Key Takeaways

  • Dr. Randy Michaud emphasizes that chronic illness often has deep roots in emotional trauma, limiting beliefs, and unresolved childhood stress rather than just physical symptoms.
  • The concept of 'too little, too long' or 'too fast, too much' helps explain how physiological responses to trauma can manifest physically years after the actual event.
  • Functional medicine combined with energy work—such as the Body Code and Emotion Code—allows practitioners to identify and release trapped emotional energy and inherited generational patterns.
  • Muscle testing serves as a valuable biofeedback tool to ask the body questions, uncover hidden stressors, and map out a personalized healing journey.
  • Developing self-awareness, practicing inner work, and having the right support system or coach are essential steps for anyone looking to heal from within.
  • Healing requires moving beyond simply chasing physical labels to addressing the underlying emotional and mental patterns that accompany chronic conditions.

Dr. Randy Michaud joins David DeHaas for a deep conversation about the connection between chronic illness, emotional trauma, limiting beliefs, and the body’s ability to heal. Dr. Randy shares how his functional-medicine approach looks beyond physical symptoms to explore possible underlying factors such as mold, Lyme disease, parasites, toxicity, past trauma, family patterns, and emotional stress.

They discuss how childhood experiences and unresolved emotional events may influence a person’s health and beliefs years later, as well as Dr. Randy’s experiences using muscle testing, Body Code, Emotion Code, mirror work, meditation, prayer, and coaching as tools for self-awareness and emotional processing.

The conversation also explores generational patterns, self-love, mindset, forgiveness, inner work, and the importance of having the right support system. Dr. Randy emphasizes that healing is not simply about identifying a physical problem—it can also involve understanding the emotional and mental patterns that may accompany it.

The episode ultimately centers on a powerful message: developing greater awareness, working through emotional patterns, and reconnecting with yourself may be an important part of the healing journey.

FAQ 1: How does Dr. Randy connect emotional trauma with chronic illness?
Dr. Randy explains that stressful or traumatic experiences can influence the body’s physiological response and may contribute to patterns that continue long after the original event. He looks at a person's history, the words they use to describe themselves, and emotional patterns that may have developed earlier in life.

FAQ 2: What are Body Code and Emotion Code?
Dr. Randy describes Emotion Code as a method that uses a chart of emotions and muscle testing to identify emotional patterns, while Body Code uses a broader mind map involving different systems and organs. He presents them as tools for identifying and addressing what he believes may be trapped emotional energy in the body.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Dr. Randy Michaud connect emotional trauma with chronic illness?

Dr. Michaud explains that stressful or traumatic experiences trigger physiological responses in the body that can remain dormant and manifest as physical illness years or even decades later.

What are the Body Code and Emotion Code?

The Emotion Code uses a chart of emotions and muscle testing to identify and release trapped emotional energy, while the Body Code uses a broader mind map involving different body systems and organs to address deep-seated imbalances.

What is the role of muscle testing in functional medicine?

Muscle testing is used as a tool to communicate with the body, helping practitioners ask questions and receive feedback to identify underlying sensitivities, emotional blocks, and toxicity.

Can generational patterns impact a person's health?

Yes, inherited energy distortions, generational beliefs, and shared lifestyle factors from ancestors and parents can influence a person's health and emotional well-being, though these patterns can be successfully overcome.

More doctors need to be digging deeper to find out what was the emotional cause. And what I always find, do you find this amazing too? I'm sure you do, that, you know, it wasn't something that maybe happened yesterday, but it could, you know, happened in the childhood, and but it didn't really manifest until maybe years later.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I absolutely find that. Where, you know, it is something happened, or a series of events happened. And in one of the books I read from Dr. Dr. Amy Epigan, she wrote the book called The Biology of Trauma. And she has this phrase that she uses where it's like too little, too long, or too fast, too much. And what she means by that is maybe there was something going on that it was just a little bit of something, but it was going on for a long time, or it was something way too much all at once. And that triggered this physiologic response in the body. And that's manifested in so many ways in the people that I work with. And um, it's true, like things that have happened years ago, you know, 10, 15, 20 years ago, and then they start to manifest in little ways, three years, five years, 10 years later, and they would have never put those two things together.

Living Waters Wellness Center was formed after we discovered how to heal my body from multiple symptoms, including allergies, asthma, chronic fatigue, back pain, psoriasis, acne, hives, yeast infection, and finally cancer. And I did it all naturally. After 20 years of trying numerous different treatments, medical treatments, cleanses, iridology, muscle therapy, acupuncture, acupressure, homeopathy, naturopathy, those experiences led us to discover that recipe that became known as the Four Natural Laws of Healing. Combining multiple natural healing modalities to fully detox and cleanse the body and allowing the body to take the perfect nutrition to fully restore the body back to its innate health. This became known as a 10-day healing retreat. We've helped thousands of people, just like you, get their health restored so they can live their life to the fullest. Today on the show, I have Dr. Randy Michaud. I met him about I think four months ago, where he gave a talk and I gave a talk and we kind of like-minded. And he's got a very interesting practice here in Boise, Idaho, called Generations Health, generationshealth.co. If you want to reach out to him, Dr. Randy, welcome to the show. Hey, thanks for having me, David. Excited to be here. Yeah. So you got you you journeyed out to Idaho from the East Coast, found our little piece of paradise. But I think you do a lot of telehealth now, right?

SPEAKER_04

Uh I have. And then but recently it's been uh actually a lot of local people. It's been great.

SPEAKER_02

A lot of locals. You get a little mix of both. And he's located in Meridian, Idaho, is what I remember. That's correct. Correct. That's correct. And uh so just tell me a little about your practice. What what do you have a specific niche or kind of generalized and functional medicine? What do you what do you what do you do mostly?

SPEAKER_04

So I uh you know I had the opportunity to move out here and work with Dr. Todd Watts, who had started CellCor and he owned the clinic before it was Total Body Wellness Clinic, and really followed after him. And he was working with parasites, Lyme disease, mold, biotoxin illness. And before I moved out here, that had become something I was working into. Um I had seen enough in my own clinic to recognize, hey, like chiropractic is awesome, but it's not getting to the heart of what these folks need. And through a series of events, um, my sister getting sick, my dad dying, I met Todd. And so I've really patterned things after that work. What I think I've added or brought into it more is I see a lot of roots in trauma and I will say emotional stuff that I think predisposed a lot of people to this chronic state of illness. And so I kind of mesh those two things together in terms of looking at people holistically, where yes, we're working on the mold and the lime, but we're also really diving into what initiated all this. Was there something in their past? And often we've seen that in childhood where something happened where it just kind of derailed their life. And shortly after that, they began to have all these chronic illnesses that no one could explain. And so kind of work in both of those worlds.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we see a similar pattern down here, especially on the emotional. Uh everyone comes in, you know, chasing their label. I'm sure you get that as well.

SPEAKER_04

They're an expert in their own condition, right?

SPEAKER_02

I had a long conversation yesterday. Yeah, but, yeah, but I've got this. Yeah, but you know it's gonna do this, this, and this. Yeah, but and I says, well, you know, like you, as you know, you dig deeper, which is more doctors need to be digging deeper to find out what was the emotional cause. And what I always find, do you find this amazing too? I'm I'm sure you do, that, you know, it wasn't something that maybe happened yesterday, but it could, you know, happened in the childhood, and but it didn't really manifest until maybe years later.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I absolutely find that where, you know, it is something happened, or a series of events happened. And in one of the books I read from Dr. Dr. Amy Epigian, she wrote the book called The Biology of Trauma. And she has this phrase that she uses where it's like too little, too long, or too fast, too much. And and what she means by that is maybe there was something going on that it was just a little bit of something, but it was going on for a long time, or it was something way too much all at once, and that triggered this physiologic response in the body. SPEAKER_02

What was the name of the I'm a book of holic? So, what's the name of the book?

SPEAKER_04

The biology of trauma.

SPEAKER_02

Biology? I've never read that one.

SPEAKER_04

Really good book.

SPEAKER_02

That's all I do is collect books and read them. Only now I read them more from uh I I I I I I just allow the the spirit, the Holy Spirit to just kind of open up where I need to read.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, sometimes that's the best way to do it.

SPEAKER_02

Sure. I I I interviewed Dr. Thomas Lee, he was so funny. Uh, and I got his uh book, The Only Cause of Disease, a little plug for him. But I wasn't interviewing him about this book. It was called Curing the Incurable about vitamin C and so forth. But I got the book and I was at the biohack conference and I just opened it up and it went right to like the perfect wording that was just perfect for me. I just I just laughed. I thought, oh my gosh, so amazing. So yeah, I like to read books. I'm a big book of holic. So well, tell us about some of the what's what tell me some stories about people in trauma and and what what when they come in with a symptom and and how how you uncovered it. Tell me how you worked through that process.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. So you can't just open up the head and say, hey, what trauma's down there? No, no, we can because sometimes they don't even they don't even know, right? Right. They know they know things that might have happened, but I think we we build up this facade that you know we want to forget. We want to put that, bury that. And and sometimes there's even a fear of sharing what things happened. So when someone comes in, like one of the first things I do is just a free discovery call with people. And uh it's usually 20, 30 minutes just to assess, hey, what's going on with your state? And that's usually over to the phone or or Zoom. And then when they come in, I really value there's a test that we do called the metabolic vulnerability index test or MVX. And it's really the only blood test that is a measurement of health. And it's it's fantastic because when you're looking at that and assessing that with someone, it helps begin for them to make sense of what's happening. And what I mean by that is that test can point towards if the body is suffering from inflammation due to infection, or is the mitochondria being challenged because of toxicity? Are they depleted? And so when you start talking about here's what's happening on this test, and then you've got their history that you can relate that to, I find that so many people are like, oh my gosh, yeah, I just I feel depleted, or I feel like I'm so inflamed from something, but I can't figure out what. I would say many of the people that come to me already know that they have some type of mold biotoxin illness. They believe they have parasites. And then this test, in many ways, can start to validate what they have felt. And that's really powerful, right? Validating what someone is experiencing so that you like, they know that you understand, or at least that you are acknowledging what they're going through, is so essential. And then I love to do live cell analysis to look at their blood under the microscope with them. That's fascinating to see what we discover.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And then I go into muscle testing. And muscle testing is really a way to uh ask questions to the body and receive, receive answers, not receive answers like audibly, but through the muscle testing to identify uh what's there. And a lot of people, some people have questions on muscle testing. Is it valid? But you know, I think when you're working with an individual and there's that trust and for the common good, you you find a lot of things going on in the body. And then it's not just finding these things, right? If it was enough to find things, it would be like, great, hey, we found mold, we found lime, parasites, way to go, awesome. But it's like, okay, what's next? Like, how do we do this? And is there an order and a sequence? And how is that person going to react to things? So it really becomes identifying where the sensitivities are in this individual and what is their past history looked like, how do they respond to things to know how to put stuff together? But aside from all that, I think the the part that I love most about these first interactions is the connection. When you're hearing somebody listening and you pick up on words or phrases that they're saying that kind of they use to define themselves. You know, things like I've tried all this, but my body just, I don't know, is it broken? Or, you know, is it, is it my age? Maybe I'm just too far gone and there's no, like, there's no hope, or I've just been down this road so long. Does my body even have the ability? And you hear those things, and it's like, wow, they have they have spent a lot of time, effort, resources, and their capacity to, you know, really embrace that, hey, I know that my body can heal. It's it kind of wavers, but they still have this internal hope of I want to be, you know, whole. I want to be me again. And and I think that's the the beauty of interacting with someone is identifying what those core values, those beliefs are, and and then recognizing what the limiting patterns are so that we can support them that way. That's essential. And that comes back to that emotion and trauma piece that may have created that limiting belief.

SPEAKER_02

So I I assume you're asking a lot of questions to kind of dig dig back deep into when Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's it's a lot, it's a lot less of me talking and a lot more of me, especially that first visit, asking questions and identifying what has gone on in their life. And, you know, it's interesting. One of the questions that I'll ask people is when was the last time you felt well? And they kind of sit back and they're like, man, I don't, I don't know. Like maybe, maybe 10 years ago, maybe 15, and I hear that 10, 15 years ago. I think the longest I heard was, you know, 40 years ago. I think when I was like 10, I think I felt good. And then all through my teens it was terrible. I've had some that have like, I don't know if I've ever felt well. And I'm like, what do you mean by that? And they say, well, I just my my mom told me that I didn't thrive very well. You know, I was always sick and remember going to the doctor all the time. And it was like, wow, to have never felt well. Like that's that's a burden. That that's that's exhausting. So, but I love that question because it it helps me identify a lot of things emotionally, physically, mentally, like where are they? Because if it's been a year, hey, that's big. If it's been 15 years, that's massive.

SPEAKER_02

Nothing is more exciting than seeing a client shed their diseases and symptoms caused from accumulated toxins from the chemicals in our foods, the clothes we wear, and the air we breathe, than by cleansing through colon hydrotherapy and treating the whole body naturally. Here's what a few clients had to say about their experience at Living Waters Wellness Center.

SPEAKER_00

Hey guys, my name is Dana. I came to Living Waters because I was in a very bad accident 20 years ago. I broke 12 bones and uh they took my my spleen out and appendix out, then they had to put me on medication for pain. I got addicted to it and it was very bad. But when I came to Living Waters and started the cleansing in every way, not only chronic cleansing, each day I have been able to cut one full dose, and that's huge because my craving got less. I'm pain-free, I feel better, and very grateful to Wendy and David. And thank you, Living Waters.

Talk to a healthcare professional and see if cleansing is right for you. So yeah, there's always something, and it seems uh I've had even people tell me, of course, we're in the colon hydrotherapy business, and you know, I asked when it started. Sometimes it was from birth on, you know, or as a you know, baby or teenager. Yeah, I've never pooped well, they said. And then I and and one gal, I remember years ago, I says, Well, how long has this been going on? Oh, since 2007. I says, Okay, what happened then? Well, I went to Afghanistan. Oh. No stress there. Yeah, yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

You know what else is interesting with that is when they when they say from birth, then you're going back and you're looking at, all right, what are what are generational patterns? Right. And even without that, it's still so beneficial to see, hey, what was the health of of your parents and what was their relationship like? Yeah, what was happening during when you were uh you know in utero? What was going on? And and then I found some people, and you've probably found this too, is it's like, you know, on my mom's side of the family or my dad's side of the family, like there was a history of depression or a history of colon cancer in my family. It was colon cancer. My dad, his dad, his sister. Um I don't know, further back than that in terms of like what went on health-wise, but you start to see patterns as well, and it's like, oh, we gotta break this pattern. Like, this has got to stop.

SPEAKER_02

So do you believe that to be a generational memory stored within the it genetically, and then it gets passed on kind of like an inheritance of or do you believe it's just the same energy as living beings that's getting passed on?

SPEAKER_04

Ask that again. I'm gonna make sure I heard I mean I think I knew what you're saying. I just want to make sure I yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So let's say that, you know, my my my my dad had colon cancer, my grandfather had colon cancer, his dad had colon cancer, for example, right?

SPEAKER_03

Yep, yep.

SPEAKER_02

Um so is that carried for genetically, or is it that they were just living their demeanor, their actions got passed on, their personality got passed on as more of a personality carrying on the same kind of stressors, the same kind of beliefs. Maybe they're living in uh you know, a fear of some kind, and it just is a generational passed on of information that way.

SPEAKER_04

That's a great question. And I think it can be both, right? I mean, I know that that genetically, through like our lifestyle, epigenetics, things can be switched on and off. Um, you know, based like our lifestyle is often dictated by our parents, and so we're doing a lot of the same things. You know, we grew up thinking that our parents know everything, and so it's like we do what they do until we're like, they don't know what they're doing. Um but but also from that from that genetic standpoint, I do think there are things that can be passed down. I do not believe, though, that it is a like life sentence, meaning, oh, well, this was genetic, so you're just gonna have to deal with it. I don't believe that. I believe there are ways to overcome those and we can support our body so that that doesn't express. And I definitely believe through like some of the energy work I've done with body code, um, emotion code, that I find these generational beliefs, patterns, miasms, which are like inherited energy distortions from ancestors, that it's crazy to see how those stack up. And then what happens when that stuff is released? And there's just like this often this instant, wow, I just feel lighter. I feel like something like lifted from me. And I'm like, yeah, I mean, that energy has mass, and we can help release it. And now there's some work for you to do. So I think it's both. And I think sometimes the more important work or the stuff that's probably more essential are those energetic, limiting beliefs, lifestyle factors that are are passed down, handed down. Those are there's some deep ruts that that people can find themselves in, and kind of getting out of that emotional rut or belief rut, that can be challenging because it's like all they've known. And so we got to start helping to support that that process.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I had a gal years ago, we're first getting into what we're doing, and um we do it through a process, and and and she discovered that the issue started when she was in the womb. Mom was very stressed, didn't really want to have her come to earth because it was just so stressful, not sure how to feed her kids. Wow, that kind of thing, right? And and uh observing this lady, she had seven kids, been married for 27 years, and in business, she'd be very successful, and then she would crash, successful crash, just a and she ended up marrying uh a husband that really what she finally discovered. Oh my god, he's been it's been a mental friction that I I learned from my mother, and and and her and her mother had an on-again, off-again relationship, recreated it through the husband, eventually after 27 years, decided wow, he's not gonna change, and I'm not gonna live like this. I uh I this is what's been my problem. And for her, divorce was the solution. Now, some people I've seen him go the other way and and come to terms with it and let it go. But that was very interesting to me is how she discovered that and uh picked up on that, and she's living a completely different life today. She's free, it's so cool to watch.

SPEAKER_04

That's awesome. You know, I it's similar to that, this was interesting. There was a lady, this was back in Virginia when I was doing just straight chiropractic. I started to do emotion code, and um, that was a cool story in terms of how I got into that, but maybe I'll share that in a sec. But I'm doing this on her, and um and what was it that came up? It was interesting because the word uh was it was it guilt? Shame. Shame was that was the emotion that came up. And for whatever reason, I had the the thought to ask the question, muscle testing, right? Was this shame something that was was like something was done to you and you felt shame, or something that you did, and from that you felt shame? And I said that out loud, right? And when I was testing, it came up something that happened. And I pinpointed the age with muscle testing. And she looked at me. How did you know that? I'm like, I don't know anything that happened. I can speculate based on what your response is. But I said, I don't know. I said, I'm just, I'm muscle testing, and this is what I've come up with. And she shared with me. She's like, I have never shared this with anybody. But she's like, I was abused as a child. And I've never shared this with anybody. And she had, you know, she had a great relationship, but I mean, there was great, great's probably too big, too strong of a word. There were challenges and a lot of like major stress with her, challenge with kids. Her husband was very patient. But I remember that as we worked on that, and then I recommended, I said, I'm not a counselor, but now that you have shared this, and then she did share with me what happened. She said, I said, now that you've shared this, and clearly there was like this big release from her, I said, it may be beneficial to speak to a counselor. Like there's a lot to unpack here, and your whole life has been kind of influenced by that one event. And it was really amazing to see. She did. She went and sought counseling. She shared this with her husband, and it completely changed their life. I mean, I kept on seeing her for chiropractic and I would do body coat on her. But there were months later where she came back in and just a complete different complexion. And she's like, I've really changed my whole life around. She's like, I feel I feel love really for the first time. I understand what love is. Um, it was beautiful. It was amazing to witness that. And, you know, this kind of impact that we can have on people when we are in the in the right place and present and just focusing on that person.

SPEAKER_02

I've been continually blown away. I grew up obviously in a very perfect childhood with my family. I did not understand how many people get sexually or physically abused. Men and women. And I was just I I I just you know totally shocked at the stories that I've listened to. But it's really cool when I see that they get to forgiveness and let go. And we have a term let go, let God. And and the changes that happen. Um some people though, some people choose to keep it. It's just too hard for them. But no, most people, you know, they with it'll help. Um I just find that fascinating. I had no idea. I had no idea of the child trafficking. I had no idea. I was just such a naive.

SPEAKER_04

I was too. I was similar. I had no clue about any of that stuff.

SPEAKER_02

And then I get into chiropractic and I'm like, there's a lot of people that are and now that I do body code, I mean this stuff comes up a lot, and it's like, wow, this is you want to talk about what body code, what is that?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah. So body code was developed by a chiropractor named Brad Nelson, and it is a very simple way through muscle testing to identify trapped energy in the form of emotion and the body. And that can get trapped anywhere, right? Maybe people have are are familiar with certain organs carrying uh energy or carrying emotion, like the liver, anger and frustration, the lungs, worry. Um, you know, so they can carry those. And when we have experiences, right, some stuff, you know, we experience something and it just kind of like passes right on by. No big deal. Other things can like hit us, and it's kind of impactful and it sticks and it stays, and they build up and and they add, and and so all those little you know, experiences that we have, and it could be something as simple as, you know, a kid coming home from school, and I mean, I've done this with my kids. You're busy, you're trying to do stuff, and your kid comes home with a you know uh artwork or whatever, and like, hey, check this out. This is what I did today, and you're like, oh, that's cool. And you go back to what you were doing. Something as simple as that in a kid can trigger like this, oh, they don't, they don't care. I did all that effort, I did all that work, and they don't care. And it's like, no, that's not at all. We just have a million things going through our mind. But it's it's as simple as that, and then as big as trauma, right? Getting stuck. And so through muscle testing, we can identify those imbalances, and then very simply through one of the meridians, clear those. And then I believe that there is some work to do on the individual's part where, hey, take this and now um kind of sit with it. Don't ruminate on it, but just there may be emotion that comes up. There may be things you need to talk through, there may be some breathing that you need to do, or meditation or prayer. I said, Don't let those things go by the wayside. It's not just like there's not there's work involved, right?

SPEAKER_02

Do you do you have them do something specific to to help flush that out?

SPEAKER_04

Um, I do. Like I'll based on what we what we found and and released and cleared, I will often, hey, this is what I would what I would recommend doing. Um there's a guy I was working with um recently that we released a bunch of stuff on him. And I said, you know, I said, I bet you don't take a lot of time to acknowledge the good work that you're doing with people. And he's like, no. He's like, I'm looking at what we didn't do well, what we could have done better. Um and I said, I'd like you this week, and this is an example, I said, I'd like you this week to at the end of every day take your list of people that you saw and just acknowledge yourself for working with them, putting your hands on them to heal through chiropractic, having a conversation. Just acknowledge what you are doing. And he kind of smiled. He's like, I've never done that. And he's been in practice 20 plus years. I'm like, You've never acknowledged yourself? He's like, No. I said, Will you do this? Is this something that you'll you'll do? And he's like, Yeah. And then he and then he thought of a couple of things where people had had said, hey, thank you for what you've done today. And he said, I kind of just kind of brushed it off, like, oh yeah, it's just, you know, no big deal. But he's like, I bet if I acknowledge that, I'd probably like, it'd probably go a long way. And I said, it might. You got to test it out. So I mean, that was really cool. And that's that's one example of how someone can support the work that we've done through body code and others, my own stuff. Man, I've had to do a lot of work on my own self through meditation, through prayer, through um just like talking, feeling where is this in my body, and just really working, working through it, grounding, you know. So there are many different ways to help process things, and and we often will discuss like, hey, here's what we need to do to help support you.

SPEAKER_02

We used to do, I had a coach on hired years ago, and this is when I had cancer, and I'll never forget it. I can I can visually where I was at, the parking lot, which way I was facing. And he says, Well, why did you create this? And I looked at him and I'm going, huh. That's an interesting question. And then he says, Well, do you want to live or do you want to die? I go, damn, dude, that's two tough questions right there. Um, I thought, those are really good questions though. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah. And it's crazy to be asked that by somebody, like, what did you create this? And you're like, I didn't ask for this.

SPEAKER_02

And how do you think that I created this?

SPEAKER_04

Right. I mean, you may not have asked for it, but like, what do you think? Like, what goes on in that mind? What do you ruminate on? What do you experience?

SPEAKER_02

Like, yeah. And don't you find that we all need a you know, we all need a little coach, we all need a little someone to look, you know, reflect back what they see. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. I have, I mean, I have a coach. I have I meet with him every week. Thank goodness. Um it's so valuable because our family, uh, family is not a coach, right? Family's family, and they got their own stuff. I think everyone needs a coach on some level, right? Whether it's whether it's a good idea. Well, Michael Cook had a coach, Larry Learn had a coach. Yeah, I really think that's valuable because like we don't we don't talk, we don't connect with, I mean, we do connect on some level, but I think we're so disconnected from our body and from this earth that at least the coach that I work with, right? He's never, he's not teaching, he's not explaining, he's asking me questions, and he's then mirroring what I'm saying. Is this what you're saying? And I'm like, no, that's not what I mean. He's like, okay, well, what do you mean? Like you said it, and and I'll think through and I'll talk. I'm like, that is what I mean. And he's like, great. Now what are you gonna do about that? And then it's my responsibility. But without that mirror, without that reflection, I mean, it's I wouldn't have that, right? And and our our husbands, our wives, you know, spouses, um we're not most people are not there to coach. They they don't even know how to get out of their own way.

SPEAKER_01

My name is Cindy, and I came to Living Waters because of parasites. That's what I thought the main thing was. Well, it's not just all about parasites, it's about a lot of stuff: the emotional, the mental, the spiritual, the physical. It's so intertwined, I didn't realize that. I realized that there's things holding on to me that I didn't even know. And when I finally got it and learned that I need to get that disconnected, and one day I was on the bed and I was just praying, praying, praying, like, Lord help me disconnect from this. Like, I get it. I have to let that go and that go and that go. And there was a lot of list I had, and I felt peace. It was amazing because I don't want those parasites holding on. I want those guys gone. And I did go from 14 to 1 this morning. Entities. It's shocking. I'm on top of the world. I I feel so energized. I'm excited. I'm happy and strong. I know physically maybe I'm not as strong as I think I am because it's such a high, you know, spot as far as the emotional goes, but I feel great, great. I am so thankful to you guys. I mean, I had a friend refer me here who had referred me here before, which I'm like, no, I'm not doing that. I thought it was weird. But when I've experienced it and how easy it is and how wonderful you guys are, it's like you're at my every beck and call. So serviced. It was a beautiful experience. Thank you, Living Waters.

SPEAKER_04

Let alone. And then it usually comes down to well, I think you should do this, right? You should do this better. If you would do this, then it would be better. And then there's resentment and bitterness, and you see that in couples a ton. Where if you did this or you don't do this enough, and it's like, no, no, no, that's not coaching. That's that's blaming, that's that's raging. So I do. I think that having a good coach, whether it's for health, whether it's for life, can be so beneficial.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah. Um I had recently an incident. I was on a table, and this gal is a very specialized I don't want to call her massage therapist. I mean, that's one of her labels, but I've had this kind of throat. She was digging around in my throat. She goes, My God, Davy, she's got this stuff all wrapped around your throat. I go, oh, really? She goes, Yeah, you gotta do what you tell your clients to do. You gotta get this out. You gotta go out and scream, you gotta, and I go, and then it hit me, I go, oh. So I had been the last year, and you can go back and listen to some of my podcasts, there's been times my voice has not been clear, right? It's it's been it's been kind of like I was hoarse almost, but I wasn't hoarse, and I was thinking, what in the heck's going on here? And then it hit me, I thought, oh this issue. And I immediately left your office and I went and took care of that issue. And uh but it's so freeing when you get to have someone mirror and reflect back and and let that go. But uh, you know, quite frankly, sometimes it's hard too, because you don't want to hear it. It's like, what? No, I didn't create this. Cancer, no, that was I didn't come on.

SPEAKER_04

You know, I I think I think we we don't want to hear it until we do. And I think what I mean by that is we can be going through life, and I think eventually those that don't like their life end up looking in the mirror and it's like, uh no one's else, no one else is created. We can blame, right? But it's typically, I'm the one that's created this. Like, what am I doing? And I think, I don't know, I feel like more, maybe I maybe I maybe it's just because of the circles that I that I run in, there are a lot of people that are recognizing there's some inner work, there's some work I need to do. There's some stuff I've got to do on myself. This isn't about other people. It's not about people that are gonna rescue me or save me or something major is gonna happen and change my whole life. I do feel that there are a lot of people that are seeking this greater connection with themselves. And that does take a level of courage to like look yourself in the mirror and what do I see? And what do I like? What don't I like? And that brings awareness. Without awareness, we can't change anything. And I think that that awareness is it's kind of looking in the mirror, maybe not fully, maybe like out of a glance, right? We just see like a little profile of ourselves. And uh, but that inner work, I think, is essential, especially for our like our generation, where I don't know how you grew up. I mean, it sounds like you know, a good family. My dad was a Marine, he was in Vietnam, he was force recon, so he's going out looking for the enemy. It wasn't until I read his letters that he wrote to his aunt that I better understood him. And of course it was after he died, like 10 years after he died. I read every letter that he wrote to his aunt. He was scared to death to die. And every mission that he was on, like he had the potential to die. And he talked about that over and over, like this fear. And yet he'd be the one that would go into the hole. He'd be the one that would go. He did that stuff? Oh, yeah. It was crazy stuff that he did. There's actually, I'll share this. There's actually in one of the original Call of Duty um games, there is a mission that you go on where you have to uh like find this uh information in a downed helicopter behind enemy lines. So it would be, it would have been in North Vietnam. And um, and then blow up the helicopter. That was his group. Like his his group went into behind the lines, had to find this helicopter, blow it up, destroy it. And I mean, I can't imagine. I mean, reading his letter about that, it was just like this is what we had to do, right? We knew at one point we were, you know, almost surrounded. It was just crazy reading that. But I share that because I grew up with the hearing, you've got to be stronger, you've got to be faster, you've got to be, you know, bigger. I was a rail, I was skinny, right? I'm not like the big, my dad was like big Hulk type guy. Not me. I'm more skinny, lean, but I always heard you gotta be bigger, you gotta be stronger, you gotta be faster, you should be able to lift more. And so I had that belief that not enough. Right. And and I chased that that horizon most of my life of trying to be something that I didn't need to be. And um you make a lot of dumb mistakes when you are chasing something that you can never reach, and there's a lot of fear and resentment. But as I've worked on myself, it's like, wow, he that that was never what he was saying. He was doing that because of his own stuff of you have to survive. And the only way to survive is to be strong, to be fast, to be, you know, more adept at than the next person. And I I never I never appreciated the reason behind the things that he was sharing with me because I didn't know what perspective he was coming from. And I don't know if he even did, right? Um, but it's fascinating to begin to like recognize like, wait a minute, I don't like where I'm at. And for me, it was like more in business. Like, why do I struggle so much in this aspect and this aspect? And then come to find out, oh, it's because I'm chasing comparison, right? I need to be more like this person or that person. It doesn't work. Like I can only be me. And now at 50 years old, I'm like, oh, I actually really love me. But for you know, a lot of years I didn't. And I think a lot of people are in the same boat chasing something that they don't have to.

SPEAKER_02

Well, um, I think it's interesting, you know, what war has done to the psyche of our our nation and how um, you know, he's you know, a lot of people have PTSD. My uncle, we didn't learn until he died at age 90. 89. Uh he was in World War II, one of the islands over Japan, the Japanese had him surrounded. Everyone in his platoon died except for him. He called up in a tree and slept up there and hid out in a tree for days until it got clear and he could leave. Could you and then looking at while what his life was like and some of the things his kids shared with me, you know, his anger, he never ever discussed it. They found the purple heart he was awarded. Nobody knew until he died. That stuffed and a lot of emotions.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Do you do you find we find here, and I'm gonna ask you if you find the same thing, we ask people to do some mirror work, and there are people who can't, it'll be days before they can even look themselves in the mirror.

SPEAKER_04

Oh yeah. I think, I mean, mirror work can be beautiful, but it's one of the hardest things to do. I mean, it's I think that I think that's more of like an advanced type thing for people. I I've asked people a lot of times, um, hey, I think we need to work on some emotional stuff. And I've had people say, Oh, we don't, we don't go there. I'm like, what do you mean? Why don't we go there? I don't have time for that. I can't handle that. Every time I think about stuff, I just start to ball, and people around me are like, what's your problem? There's this fear, I think, of what is this gonna open up? If I go there, what is it gonna open up in me? And do I even have the capacity to handle it? And to the people around me, do I? I think safety is a big part of this. Do I feel safe enough to share? And people are like, what do you mean safe? Like you live in a good home and you've got a good spouse and you've got four walls. And what do you mean safe? Safe is like mentally safe, emotionally safe. How am I going to be received if I cry, if I'm angry, if I share like what I'm going through? And I think for that reason, a lot of people don't know where to start because who am I going to share this with and what will they think of me? And in some cases, they're right, like they're not in a safe environment. And I find that a lot that they're not in the environment to be able to do that, unfortunately. Those that are, when they get to the point where they can look in the mirror, it's amazing. It's incredible when they they look themselves in the mirror and they take time, they're looking into their eyes, they're seeing the The depth, the texture of their eyes, their face. I just did this recently, a few weeks ago. I was at a friend's house and we did a, we he was, he was working with us on some stuff, some really deep things. And I at one point I told him and I said, Hey Matt, I want to, I want to look in the mirror. He's like, You want to do the mirror work? I'm like, Yeah, I do. And I sat looking in the mirror at myself for 40 minutes. It was incredible.

SPEAKER_02

What did you tell me your most what did you go through?

SPEAKER_04

Um, man, well, there was. So I've I've done a lot of inner work. I've done a lot of work on myself over the past two years and worked with a lot of amazing people. I don't think I could have done this before this last one. Um the emotions that came were were joy and acknowledgement. Acknowledgement's really not an emotion, but it was it was love. It was this overwhelming feeling of love of, man, look at the lines on your face. And think of the experiences that you've had that have created this. And look at the white hair and the different stresses that you've had, the different things that you have worked through, the positions that you've put yourself in that weren't that weren't that great from different decisions you've made. But at this point, there was no frustration, there was no judgment, there was no shame. It was just an acknowledgement of, hey, you've always been enough. You're right here. And and it really helped me understand the I think the depth of what this human experience is. And then there were different things that I was tasting. It was kind of cool. I was using ginger and like cacao. So I had this very like, it was sweet. It was, it wasn't like ceremonial cacao, which is more bitter. Um, it was though it was more like dark chocolate. So there was a sweetness to it, and then the ginger had that just bite. And as I'm doing this mirror work, I was I was chewing on those things separate. And then there was some other stuff that was more refreshing. There were pine needles. And that whole experience was helping me appreciate the bitter, the sweet, the the freshness of like the pine. If you'd ever, if you ever chewed on a pine needle, man, it just makes you feel like you're in a forest, breathing in pine. It was incredible. And but the overwhelming feeling was love, an acknowledgement of, hey, it's always been you. Like you don't need to be anybody else. This is this is who you are, and it's beautiful. Um, I couldn't have said that a year ago, two years ago, ten years ago. No, no, no, no, not a chance. So that was awesome. It was really cool to do that.

SPEAKER_02

How do you step someone bring um you ask a lot of questions? Obviously, in allopathic medicine, they don't have the time to get you know the way their system's set up to go deep in those questions like what you and I have the ability to do. Um but how do you find uh is it's the first thing you say, hey, you know what? You you got some emotional garbage, we gotta get through that. Or how do you how do you walk them gently into that that state of have you ever considered uh you know when this started? What how's that what's that look like for you? And I love that question too.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. So it's it's it's listening. It's it's what are the words that they are using to describe their experience? And then it's like, why'd you use that word? Right, and and some of those words can be like broken. I I've heard that, um lost, um, not enough, uh, lack, um guilty, right? I I've spent so many time, I feel guilty for putting my family through this. I'm like, why do you use that word? And then they'll they'll start to talk. Well, this is why. And that's kind of the opening. It's just listening, and there are certain words that just land differently than others, and you almost have like a split second to pick up on it and say, pause, why that word? Why that phrase? And sometimes they're like, What did I say? I said, This is what you said, and this is the word you use to describe that. And I'm curious to know why you used that word. And sometimes they don't know, and they'll say, I don't know. They do, right? And on some level, they know, and they may say, I don't know. And I'm like, that's fair. But if you did know, like, what might it, what does it bring up? And then they kind of dive into things. Well, I mean, this was here's what's happened, and here's what people have said, or here's what's, you know, gone on. I'm like, wow, what do you think about doing some work around that? Well, like, how do we do that? Like, what would that look like? And then I share with them, you know, here's something very simple. This is a tool, it doesn't solve everything. And but maybe this is an opening to the things you're experiencing. And most people are like, sure. Some are like, I'm not going there. I I don't want to go there, not there yet. And I do find that I struggle to work with those people that don't want to do that work because it's like you're you're trying to play the game with a hand and a foot tied together, and it doesn't work very well. So it's not just a hand behind their back, it's like a hand and foot tied together, and you've got to you've got to be able to walk and run, and so but that's kind of how it starts, just listening and and and picking up on that word, or even maybe you have you ever noticed this? When you ask a question, and instead of them answering it or kind of looking up thinking, they'll just like kind of look down and away and their shoulder shrug, and it's like, okay, there's something there, right? You wouldn't have just your whole like being wouldn't have just dropped had that not been something big. And again, it's like in the Western medical, like they're not even sometimes looking at the person that they're talking to. And even in the functional space, there are people that they're not even only looking at the person they're talking to. They may be taking notes, writing on their computer. I've been a fault of that for sure. But when you're looking at them and you pick up on these body language cues, tonal cues, and then sometimes it's just intuition, like there's something you said that has a lot of energy behind it. Do you mind if we talk about that? And again, some are ready, some aren't. And you have to respect that. But we kind of come back to it and say, hey, remember that thing? I think that's playing a role here. And then they might ask, what do you mean, how? And then we start talking. So but there's not a one size fits all, and it's definitely not. Hey, you got a lot of baggage, we need to deal with this stuff. So that's usually not the way that we go about it.

SPEAKER_02

I sense some mental trauma here.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You don't need a pill man, you need to talk about this. That doesn't usually work that way. Hey, what's the difference between emotion code and body code? Is that interchangeable?

SPEAKER_04

They're they're kind of interchangeable. Emotion code, so he has different Brad Bradley Nielsen has different levels of certification in that. So emotion code is essentially like using this chart of emotions and identifying, okay, where are the emotions? Body code is more of a uh mind map that you're looking at systems and organs, and there's a lot of different things that you can go down uh to identify. And then recently he developed um the belief code, which I don't do that. That's fascinating. I've had that done with me, and it's identifying like underlying limiting beliefs and then helping someone repattern new beliefs. And that's really cool. But I've not I have not delved into that yet. I've been doing other other programs and certifications, so I haven't had time for that one.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I find, you know, I I love to coach. I love sports, I love to coach. And um I, you know, started coaching my my young kids early on. And it was really interesting to watch the kids on the first day. You'd have some that were, you know, four or five years old, some would be crying, others were very, you know, outgoing and aggressive. And then you could see people that, you know, they just needed a little encouragement. But I always found the words, you know, the words, and the first word I had them, I had them not they couldn't say was can't. And uh and and and that kind of comes from from I met a coach uh before I started coaching. He was about I think my daughter was three. And I'm sure he's passed on by now, but he out of the blue, I met I don't know how I met him, I met him. He'd take kids, and he taught uh hit track and field. And he also he says, Dave, it's all about the mind. And he says, I take subpar athletes and we become champions through mindset. He says, for example, I've never played basketball, but I've taught a guy and myself, uh, I put 800 and I don't know, or maybe nine hundred free throws straight through a net. I went, What? And I played a lot of basketball, and I could the most I ever got to was 30. And he says, Yeah, I took this guy and never played basketball, and he went on Johnny Carson, he do he put over a thousand through the net. And it was all about the belief, and I just I always hung on to that. I mean, here's a guy didn't have the technique, didn't have the physical skills, but they used the energy of their mind to be able to put that basketball through a net. And I love basketball. And uh so whenever I was coaching, I always you know felt through that you've got to take your weakest link and make them stronger. And and then I transferred that to healing. And like you've mentioned here several times in the show, you know, the words that we're using, the words that we're saying, um, you know, how that sets energetically in our body. And the first one was can't, and I tell you, I broke them with a can't right away. And um, and I and I had I taught I taught them a very simple muscle testing trick trick. You'll love this. I teach it to first day first day uh uh cleansers as well. Just a little finger test, right? Yeah, and I have them say some beliefs and some non-beliefs, and they're like, What? What how's that? And they're I go, and so I always throw those kids when I'd ever say, Hey, Johnny, you know, I'd raise up my hand like the kids go, yeah, yeah. And and but it's true. I mean, it's and it and it transfers to healing, and so um it's just amazing to me. And then and the guests I've had on the show, I had a guy on, he was coached, he ended up coaching his thing was called body scan. And so he figured out this soccer player, top soccer player, but he was just always screwing up. And he was watching social media, and he so believed social media that he would he would not finish. He couldn't finish the goal, he couldn't finish the strike. And so they discovered that, figured that out, and had him stay off of social media for several months and and and coached him up when he came back on chunk. So anyway, that's in it and he always hurt himself, he'd always injure himself. So he couldn't. Yeah. And he was listening to what people were saying on social media, and he believed that, put his body, and it was causing an illness, and he almost lost his contract. I find it fascinating.

SPEAKER_04

It really is. I mean, it's it's it's all like frequency and vibration, and words, words have vibration, the things we watch, the things that we listen to, I mean, they they all are energetically impacting our body and our mitochondria, right? The things that are making energy and that are really communicating, coordinating like all of the things that need to happen, they they respond to the types of energy that we allow into our body and into our mind, into our eye. So here's into our ears.

SPEAKER_02

This just popped in my brain. I've got to share this with you, and and maybe you've done this. So years ago, I did my first cleanse, and she says, on a scale of one to ten, ten being the best, how much do you love yourself? Oh, great question. Hmm. I don't know, six, seven, maybe, maybe an eight, I don't know. He goes, she goes, Well, do you believe in God? Yeah. And is God with within you? Yeah, I believe so. Well, does God love you an eight or a nine, or do you think he loves you as a ten? I think he loved me as a ten. He says, Well, then why don't you love yourself as a ten? I go, Yeah, why don't I? Yeah, okay, I do. But I've asked that question over the years, and I'll get a three or a four. It's a fascinating question. So, those of you listening, ask yourself, where are you at?

SPEAKER_04

And why aren't you? Right. And that could that could something that could even change on sometimes a daily basis, situationally. And I think it's great to remind ourselves of those kind of things, like, how much do I love myself? Oh. And like, where am I at? Like what what and why don't I? So if I'm not a 10, like what is it that I'm doing or that's in my life right now that that needs to be removed or changed? And yeah, that's really important. So it all comes back to awareness, the awareness of kind of where we are on that vibrational state, which we may or may not know that that we're all like somewhere in that. From David Hawkins, right? David Hawkins mapped out consciousness and has has numbers associated with frequency and words. And I think the the lowest one is shame, and the highest one is like transcendence or bliss. And there's a lot of variation in there, and it's like I think most people resonate at this like below below middle frequency, and it's like, yeah, it's look at society, and that definitely true.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, yeah. And then what I find is that, well, there's other factors too, but the parasites, and then we get that parasitic thinking, and there's a lot of that going on today. And we are and just looking at the nation overall, I've always thought, okay, so obviously the food, the toxins, that's all a big part of it, and it's numbed us. Um but I think I don't I'm just curious what your worth thought your thought of. I've been to some, you know, some some seminars and some I learned some meditation techniques and so forth. And I always thought, you know what? If we got the country really tying into uh and up upping their vibrational state via meditation, prayer, whatever, um more so than arguing about policy. That if we got up to emotional that that we gravitate to what naturally needs to be done rather than just blowing blowing countries up. That's my thought.

SPEAKER_04

I agree. I mean, I think when we you know, it's interesting when you put two people in a room and you like they they begin to actually communicate. Um Tony Robbins did this. This was years ago. You may have heard of this. This was fascinating. That it was during 9-11, right? There he was having a I think it was Date with Destiny, um, one of his big events, and it was the morning of 9-11, and people on his team were like, dude, uh, we got to shut this down. This is what's happened. He's like, No, we're not shutting it down, we're not doing this. Get everyone in the room. There were a lot of opinions, a lot of people from different countries, and some were, I mean, super angry, some were crying. And by the end of the day, everybody was there there was some level of harmony with the thousands of people in that room because they began to understand each other versus judging each other based on what they thought. And I think that we agree on so many more things than we actually think we do, but yet it's so easy to judge. And yet, if we did, if we worked on ourself and then sought to understand, oh my gosh, like the consciousness of society would just raise and we'd actually find solutions because we'd be more present within ourselves, we'd be more present with other people, listening, hearing, not judging. And uh, and you were talking about parasites a second ago. What would that do for our internal health? I mean, I really believe that those critters, like there is definitely physical work that needs to be done when it comes to mold illness, Lyme disease, parasites. But if you're only working on those physically and not doing things like that we've talked about through this whole conversation, right? Right, about raising our vibrational state energetically, I don't believe someone's ever going to heal. I think that we have to do this energetic work. When you marry those two together and combine them, it's beautiful what happens. There's a lot of resistance to doing both because it takes work. It's not just, it's not passive. But in doing that, man, it just you create a place where these bugs, these critters, they don't they don't want to reside. And and yet at the same time, they are creating an environment where it definitely lowers our vibrational tone and our ability to think clearly and feel. And so it's a it's a combination of both. And there's definitely a sequence to those things. But man, that'd be beautiful if we all came into a greater understanding and and warning to understand.

That what she just ties so much. I had a lady named Elena Bellquist. She just wrote a book. It just, I think it published this week's in bookstores, Elena Bellquist. She had chronic Lyme disease and mold, got bit by a tick. Um and what she found, you know, in her book, Resilient by Nature, is that she was in all the forums about, and everyone was talking about, you know, you're never gonna heal, all this stuff. And she says, you know what, I had to like exit myself from all that. I couldn't keep hearing that talk. And then she went on to discover that, you know, through nature and through, you know, being mindful and practicing some of these things, and you know, she was able to let go of that line and that mold and recover. Fascinating story.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's it's it's beautiful what happens when we put those two together and um and really do do that work. And it takes it it takes people, right? This is not an individual thing, it it takes people to support us and to be there walking alongside with us. No one can do it for you. That that's for truth. But man, it we need support. Without that, it just I don't think it doesn't happen.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly.

SPEAKER_04

Any other final thoughts? You know, I would just say that that yeah, that wherever you are, in whatever state, uh not physically, but mentally, right, emotionally, spiritually, that there's so much love, right? That you are so loved by I want to say this this earth, God, the universe, right? I believe that there is so much love, and that if you can tap into that, you begin to see that there is healing that's happening wherever you're at, right? You could be super low, you could be super high, but when you begin to tap into that and believe that, hey, you are you are a divine being, you are love, and begin to resonate with that, we begin to heal. And just remember that you are love.

SPEAKER_02

Are you familiar with yeah, but good point? Do you are you familiar with Dr. Joe Dispens's work?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, love his work.

SPEAKER_02

Are you familiar with the 2021 study? No. Okay. This is so cool. I've been to two of his retreats and I practice heart math. We've had heart math people on episode 163, but so you know, he was doing studies, he was mapping out their minds, what's happening in the minds, he was you know scanning that, he was pulling blood. So he decided to take a certain group of meditators feeling gratitude. And he pulled the blood and he sent it up to the labs, and he had the labs look at it. He said, Well, just run some tests, just see what what's happening, what's happening in the blood. So the scientists started running the blood, and they thought, well, this is not right. What they were doing is they were putting the COVID virus in the blood, and in meditators feeling gratitude, feeling gratitude, it upregulated the immune system 55%, and the COVID virus would not stick to the cells.

SPEAKER_04

That's incredible. That's awesome. I believe it. I 100% believe it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I just thought, oh my gosh, this is so amazing and so powerful to know that we're that powerful, which also reminds me of another show I did, of course. This guy's long past on, Dr. Norman Cousins, the guy who laughed his disease away. You know, they had this. Have you heard this story? No, I haven't. Oh my gosh. Years ago, so this is back in VHS tape days, and he had some disease. I don't remember what it was, it doesn't matter. And they were like, oh my God, you can't go home. And he said, Well, you guys are killing me here. It's noisy, you're always waking me up. And he decided, you know what? I'm gonna escape. Well, he finally got permission to leave. But anyway, he took and he went to the VHS store, got all kinds of funny movies, comedies, and he watched them all day long and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed until he laughed his dishyphenese away.

SPEAKER_04

Nice.
