285.Gut Microbiome & Detox Explained: Mold, Toxins, SIBO & Leaky Gut | Spencer Feldman

Key Takeaways

  • Chronic health challenges like Lyme disease, mold exposure, and SIBO require looking at the big picture of the gut microbiome, heavy metals, and chemical toxins.
  • Simple daily observations such as stool consistency, transit time, and bloating can offer valuable insights into overall gut health.
  • Feeding beneficial bacteria with a diverse range of prebiotics is often more effective than simply relying on probiotic supplements.
  • Addressing the physical body must be paired with deep emotional, mental, and spiritual healing to truly overcome chronic illness.
  • Trauma, stress, and nervous system overload can manifest physically, requiring modalities like breath work, EMDR, or somatic therapy to fully heal.

Spencer Feldman Reveals the 4 Hidden Factors That May Be Disrupting Your Detox Pathways, Gut Health & Overall Wellness

Spencer Feldman is a master formulator, inventor, CEO, founder of Remedy Link, author, and detoxification expert with more than 20 years of experience researching detox protocols and wellness products. In this episode of The Whole Body Detox Show, Spencer breaks down four major areas he believes can play a role in chronic health challenges: the microbiome, mold, chemical toxins, and metal toxins—and explains why understanding these systems may be important when looking at the bigger picture of health.

With experience studying functional medicine, naturopathic approaches, environmental medicine, heavy metals, biofilms, and detoxification, Spencer shares practical insights into gut health, sinus and tonsil microbiomes, mold exposure, chemical detoxification, and chelation.

IN THIS EPISODE YOU'LL LEARN:

  • Why Spencer believes the gut microbiome is a powerful ally in digestion, detoxification, immune regulation, and overall health.
  • How changes in modern food production, food processing, and antibiotic use may affect the microbiome and its access to prebiotics.
  • Simple observations involving stool odor, stool consistency, bowel transit, abdominal bloating, and stool pH that Spencer discusses as potential ways to assess gut health.
  • Why Spencer emphasizes feeding beneficial bacteria with a variety of prebiotics rather than simply relying on probiotic supplements.
  • How Spencer connects sinus and tonsil microbiomes, biofilms, mold exposure, and chronic inflammation to the body's detoxification and immune systems.
  • What Spencer explains about chemical toxins, heavy metals, fat-soluble toxins, and chelation, including his concept of “relay chelation” and the importance of avoiding redistribution.

What are the hidden factors disrupting detox pathways and gut health?

Detox pathways and wellness can be disrupted by imbalances in the microbiome, mold exposure, chemical toxins, and metal toxins.

Why are prebiotics recommended over probiotic supplements?

Feeding beneficial bacteria with a variety of prebiotics helps nourish your existing microbiome effectively, whereas probiotic supplements may not always colonize properly.

How can you assess your gut health at home?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, you've written a book. You've had Lyme disease. Let's let's go back to that story and uh begin there.

SPEAKER_04

So I wrote a book called Resilient by Nature. And the book is my journey through an illness that when people are diagnosed, a lot of them consider a life sentence. And obviously, in the subtitle is curing chronic Lyme disease. So I have cured a devastating case of chronic Lyme disease. It took about five years and realized I should probably document this because I think it's a really important story for people to have because it's a different option. When people are diagnosed with chronic Lyme, which they are now more than ever, it's really devastating. It's terrifying. And when you go online and you read about it, it kind of reaffirms and confirms those fears. So I wanted to have an alternate message for people that this doesn't necessarily have to be a life sentence. And taking it a step further for me, it was the best thing that ever happened to me, the most important thing that ever happened to me. And I wouldn't take it back. But it was absolutely devastating and grueling and the hardest thing I've ever endured.

And welcome everyone to today's Whole Body Detox Show. I'm David De Haas from Living Waters Wellness Center. Living Waters Wellness Center was formed after we discovered how to heal my body from multiple symptoms, including allergies, asthma, chronic fatigue, back pain, psoriasis, acne, hives, yeast infection, and finally cancer. And I did it all naturally. After 20 years of trying numerous different treatments, medical treatments, cleanses, iridology, muscle therapy, acupuncture, acupressure, homeopathy, naturopathy, those experiences led us to discover that recipe that became known as the Four Natural Laws of Healing. Combining multiple natural healing modalities to fully detox and cleanse the body and allowing the body to take the perfect nutrition to fully restore the body back to its innate health. This became known as a 10-day healing retreat. We've helped thousands of people just like you get their health restored so they can live their life to the fullest. Elena, welcome to the show.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you so much for having me here.

SPEAKER_01

Now I read through your bio, so you've kind of had an interesting journey. I'm anxious to hear to hear about it. You are a marine biologist?

SPEAKER_04

Yep. I have worked in fisheries policy and science for 20 years. So sustainable fisheries, making sure there's you know some fish left in the ocean.

SPEAKER_01

My daughter majored in it. She went to uh Willamette in Salem and she was gonna be one of those kind of peeps.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we're needed more than ever.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. No, and her course changed. Uh uh won't go into that, but uh all right. So you are you st you're still a marine biologist?

SPEAKER_04

I haven't been paid as a marine biologist in almost two years now, but you know, I haven't forgotten my education or all my experience. And it we it's it's woven throughout my um my work now. It definitely informs my work right now very strongly. And you know, I haven't stopped loving the ocean very much.

SPEAKER_01

Well, we gotta protect the oceans. Uh my daughter reminds me all the time. She's uh big on that and our environment, and and so am I. Who wouldn't be, right? It's everything. I know we we do a lot of crazy things to our sea, and we shouldn't be doing that. So Okay, so bring us to okay, you've written a book, you've had Lyme disease. Let's let's go back to that story and and uh begin there.

SPEAKER_04

So I wrote a book called Um Resilient by Nature, and the book is my journey through an illness that when people are diagnosed, a lot of them consider a life sentence. And obviously, in the subtitle is curing chronic Lyme disease. So I have cured a devastating case of chronic Lyme disease. It took about five years and realized I should probably document this because I think it's a really important story for people to have because it's a different option. When people are diagnosed with chronic Lyme, which they are now more than ever, it's really devastating, it's terrifying. And when you go online and you read about it, um it kind of reaffirms and confirms those fears. So I wanted to have an alternate message for people that this doesn't necessarily have to be a life sentence. And taking it a step further for me, it was the best thing that ever happened to me, the most important thing that ever happened to me, and um I wouldn't take it back. But it was absolutely um devastating and grueling and the hardest thing I've ever endured. So, not to belittle the suffering because I've lived it firsthand and I know the suffering, how great it is.

SPEAKER_01

How do you think you got it? How do you think it became validated?

SPEAKER_04

I was into a tick um here in San Diego when I was riding my horse in 2017 and uh didn't take it very seriously and probably should have. I did seek out medical care, but I wasn't really given any treatment just because in Southern California it's not really uh widely understood, especially in you know Western medicine, it's unfortunately not really well understood, or medicine isn't they aren't really trained on it very well. So I was bitten in 2017 here in SoCal and then uh for about three years manifested some very, very strange symptoms. But I was just such a good little overachiever that I totally um ignored those and didn't have time for them and just decided that they were all the results of stress until in 2020 when I just became so sick I I couldn't ignore it anymore. It's like I I am the like living embodiment of the your body speaks in whispers until it screams. And in 2020, my body was screaming at me and everything kind of imploded and fell apart. And that was 2020, and I'm here today in 2026, and I'm I'm really, really good. I'm great. I don't have Lyme disease, I test negative, and my whole life is changed for the better because of the way that I responded to this.

SPEAKER_01

So you're in 2020, and are you thinking, oh, maybe it's COVID, or did you already have a test by then?

SPEAKER_04

No, the the symptoms I had between bite and chaos was I had very strange neurological symptoms. Like I felt like my brain was vibrating. I had uh the feeling of bugs and neuropathy and crawling, you know, all over my skin. I lost feeling in my legs. So, not things that you would associate with COVID. Yes, I did become uh diagnosed and very sick at the peak of COVID, which was kind of amazing because I was like the world was already shut down, but also extremely terrifying because I was so sick with Lyme that there, like there was no way I could get COVID on top of it. So my husband and I did both get the flu, and we didn't, we just it was just like a random flu A or something, like not even COVID. And he went, he was down for about three or four days, and I crashed with him for three or four days and then like never got better. And a month later, he just looked at me and was like, I don't recognize you. You're I'm such a go, go, go overachiever, like uh every minute of my life kind of scheduled type of person. And I was just like bedridden for a month, and he's like, You gotta who are you? Like, you gotta go to a doctor. And I was tested for Lyme, and I was very positive for Lyme disease.

SPEAKER_01

So you what what kind of symptoms up until that point though? You said that you were bitten when?

SPEAKER_04

I was bitten in 2017, had about three years of kind of obscure symptoms, like all that neuropathy, that weird vertigo, vibrating brain, random day, like joint pain. Not a lot of fatigue, but I just felt like fluey. And I just pushed. I just like I think women are so conditioned. We just head down, there's no time for this. You know, I have to keep I have I have a job and I have a life. And I just kind of like bared down even harder and and just was like, no, I don't have time for this. And then and then I just decided that those were all just stress because I was so stressed out. And then in 2020, when we got that flu, everything escalated like 100 times. Like then I had full-blown body aches. Um, I felt like I had arthritis throughout my whole body. I had air hunger, which is this very strange sensation that you can't get enough air, even though you take like big deep breaths, you just feel like there's not enough air, stiff neck, burning hands. Although, like, I I had all of the very classic Lyme symptoms. And I think that's why when I just went to a random, like urgent care, she was like, I think you're you might have Lyme disease. And I was like, nonsense, like, I don't have Lyme, I don't have time for Lyme. Come on.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I don't have to, I can't do this. I've I've said that before. That's why it's so funny for me. Sorry.

SPEAKER_03

Totally, yeah. And she tested me and she was like, Holy shit, you have Lyme disease.

SPEAKER_04

And so, yeah, it was undeniable. I um was like very much like the poster child for Lyme. And when I had the knowledge at the time, like I was like, I I didn't know anything about it, but I I thought, well, I should probably go to a specialist. And I found a world-class specialist that was in San Diego and started treatment immediately. But it already been in my system for years at that time, and it had already, you know, clearly migrated into my brain, into my joints.

SPEAKER_01

I had like heart, like when you said that migrated, what migrated? What's it's a bacteria?

SPEAKER_04

So Lyme disease is Borelia, Bergdorfry, Borelia is the bacteria. So I mean, it's transmitted via like a tick, generally. That's what's the accepted understanding. Attached to my skin, goes into your bloodstream. And I think that's why acute Lyme, if you catch it early, if you see a tick attached to you, one, you can get the tick tested. So you can take the tick and send it to multiple labs, and they'll test the tick for a variety of pathogens, bacteria, viruses, and they'll let you know whether or not that tick was carrying Lyme. Maybe you should seek out treatment. I had no idea to do any of that. None. And so, yeah, it after it had bit me, it you know, enters your bloodstream. For years it wasn't addressed. So that's the point where it starts to multiply and move and burrow, and they're a corkscrew-shaped bacteria. They're like a spirochete. And so they're perfectly designed to get into places. They they're like a corkscrew, so they can get right into your joints, and to your brain, into your heart, uh, all over. I literally could feel it everywhere in me. My joints were huge and red. The brain sensations just were were some of the most cruel sensations I ever had. Like not knowing where I was, but I was in my own house, not being able to like comprehend life. Like I was looking at a table and I was like, table? Like, like it was so weird.

SPEAKER_01

Is this typical symptoms for someone with Lyme?

SPEAKER_04

With late stage, chronic, yeah. I had yeah, the neurological stuff is super common. Um the crawly skin.

SPEAKER_01

You mentioned crawly skin. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

All those tingling sensations, numbness, stiff neck, burning sensations. I didn't have the fatigue. Um few interview anyone else with Lyme, they're probably gonna tell you fatigue. They'll you know, oftentimes get misdiagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, arthritis. I didn't have the fatigue. One, because I'm so like I'm quite a tough personality. And I think I just like didn't allow the fatigue in my life. I just pushed so hard. But fatigue destroys people with this. They sleep 14 hours and they feel like they didn't sleep at all. So it's it's really intense. It's a super intense, super intense illness to face.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So as you're going through this process, did you what's the first thing that you they give you antibiotics when they finally first diagnosed? Did they go that route or what happened?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, antibiotics, antibiotics in in Western medicine, especially, is like the first line of defense. So if you have like, if you're just bitten by a tick, I mean, I recommend you save it, you get it tested. But a lot of people will also just take like a, I don't know, 10 days or three-week course of doxycycline. And that's what I was given by the urgent care. She said, Here's 10 days of doxycycline. And like, I knew she knew that wasn't gonna cut it.

SPEAKER_03

Like, I just like my gut was like, mm, she's been three years, right?

SPEAKER_04

I mean, you've had your system for three years and we kind of like, and so I took the doxy home and I took it, and in every illness I'd had up to that point, like bronchitis, strep, throat, any infection, you take, you know, you start your antibiotics and you get a little bit better, and like five days later, and like I remember like five days later, like not one percent better, like not even a percent better. And I was like, oh shit. And I at the time I'd never faced a serious illness. So I had never, I had no experience in like an illness that one would get much worse for like two years. Like I got worse because of during treatment, and then was treatment resistant. Like four years later, I'm still like, oh God, like this is still a daily thing to an extent.

SPEAKER_01

So in 2024, you're still struggling.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not struggling, but I'm managing lingering symptoms and still working like very diligently at at my healing.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Yeah. So they did the doxicling. What'd you do next?

SPEAKER_04

Freaked out, panicked, cried, thought my life was over, you know, had like a full-on meltdown because then I went over to the city.

SPEAKER_01

I've heard that when you freak out and cry and have a meltdown, that's very healing.

SPEAKER_04

It is. I had never done that in my life. So that was like a good thing. Like I was like very much like a stuff everything down, never show weakness kind of person. And then I went on the internet, and the internet scared me beyond. Like everything was just like, you're you're screwed. This is for life. You're gonna have flares that you're gonna have to manage forever. This is incurable. Like I remember I was 38 when I saw when I got sick, and I just distinctly remember thinking, well, at least I've done a lot in my life because it's over. Oh, wow. Like I thought, okay, well, at least I've achieved a fair amount. Like, look at my resume. Like, I've done a lot. And um, yeah, it was it was really bad. It was really bad. Were you able to work during that time? It I phased it out. So it was COVID. So thank thank God. We were already, we were so at that point, COVID had been happening for maybe like eight months. So remember when we all were like in the COVID routine, like we'd dropped the whole like flatten the curve kind of thing. Like we were all like in the routine of COVID. So um, like I had it wasn't weird that I was like washing my groceries anymore. We were still like that was like that was like it was like deep weird COVID times. Um and so I was already 100% working at home. And so I hid it from my boss for a long time. Um, I would do like I would just do whatever I could to get a little bit of work done. I also like had been such a star employee that I was able to kind of ride my own like coattails for a little while. And the industry, like in fisheries, things definitely slowed down because the boats weren't allowed to go fishing. And you know, so much, so so that worked in my favor. That really worked in my favor. But then I did get to a point where I I um I mean, I talk about this often, like I couldn't feed myself at one point. So you're not like filling out an Excel spreadsheet and you can't feed yourself. So a little bit here and there. And but that's it's all like it's so not a Debbie Downer story. This is like the the like breaking that had to happen. I always say, like, it had to be this loud to get my attention the way I was living. I was I was like on a path towards something happening, and I wasn't listening. I the message had to be this loud to slow me down, to get me to look at my past, to look at the way I was living, to address my stress levels. It had to be this loud. I would never have listened.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Never have listened. I've gone through a lot of that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know, it's interesting when God says, you know, you need to put some brakes on it, right? You need to pay attention here. And you get slapped by, you know, for for me, it was a lot of different things, but cancer was one of them.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, and then you've got to start looking at all that deep down, the emotional, the mental, the spiritual.

SPEAKER_04

Absolutely. Yeah. I got to I like took medicine for a few months, and I was like, well, this isn't working. And then I was like, okay, I guess I'll have to address some like mental and emotional stuff too.

SPEAKER_01

So what'd you do? Tell tell us your timeline. What you what'd you do?

SPEAKER_04

Um, well, I called a psychic out of desperation. I'd never done that before. You know, I'm trained scientist. I just thought it was like nonsense. And she was amazing. And she was like, I think you need to look at your childhood. And I was like, How dare you say that? Like, what are you talking about? And so I just she kind of planted the seed, and I started to think, well, maybe I should I just had had this blanket statement, like everything was perfect, tied it up in a you know, like I'm not looking at that stuff. Like, I that's in the past. Like, I'm very like, let's let's move forward. And she was the one who was like, I think you know, you have to look at some stuff from your past that are why are you a fun like a frantic workaholic? Why are you so worried about what everyone thinks of you? Why are you so hellbent on achieving and all of these things that I was just assumed were who I was? I was like, I came out of the womb like this.

SPEAKER_01

And um how did you feel when how did you feel though when she said that to you? What was your reaction?

SPEAKER_04

Ane-jerk reaction was like, nope, not gonna do that, because that would admit that I there was parts of my life that weren't perfect, and that wasn't I didn't want to do that. No one's life is perfect, and but I did write it down. I wrote it down on my to-do list, like it was one thing to address on one day. Um, so I took her seriously because I'm I am your straight A student here. So like she told me to do it, so I'll do it. And I didn't understand the depth of like I didn't understand what that meant at the time.

SPEAKER_01

Did you hire someone then to help you through that or did she help you through it?

SPEAKER_04

I did. I hired everyone. Like I overachieved my healing like beyond. I did EMDR, I hired a clinical like psychologist, I worked with like Back up, back up.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's you said a keyword there, EMDR. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Tell us, tell the um oh Lord, it stands for eye movement. What's it something's something? Something's something. And it's it's you know, it's this is like a uh clinical treatment um that helps you you do this with like a licensed person because they're gonna have you go way back and they're gonna specifically guide you to some things that might be uncomfortable, memories you may not want to address, memories that are uncomfortable. And that's why you really want to seek out someone who knows what they're doing. And they just, she's amazing. The woman I found in San Diego. And we just ever so slowly went back into some things that were like, oh, that apparently really hurt. And I never talked about it because I was such a stoic person and very rarely shared my feelings or my struggles. So I found safe places to do that. But these people were extraordinarily patient with me because like I went to therapy at first, like wanting to show them how put together my life was. And like I didn't, I was not interested in like getting like real and like ugly. So I mean, these therapists waited a while for me to come around. So I then I've hired a spiritual coach, and then I hired a health coach and started doing breath work daily, which was life-changing. So I, you know, I did the whole spectrum from like clinical psychologist to like Reiki and everything in between. And it all served a purpose and it all kind of worked together to help me one, like take a good look in the mirror, and then two, rewire the things I wanted to rewire, which is really hard, and I'm still working at a lot.

SPEAKER_01

So so as a scientist, and uh that was probably hard for you, wasn't it? To to to go down this uh airy, let's call it the airy fairy highway of looking at things that aren't solid. Yeah, but now quantum science has proven so much of this stuff, it's so cool.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I wanted things to be binary, black or white, one or zero. This was good, this was bad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like Reiki. How would you just how would you describe Reiki? I mean, that's I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not trained in it. That's a cool thing about me. Think you might think I'm like a controlling person like that. I was very like, energy healing, let's try it. That's awesome. You know, some dude would stand over me and like put his hand, like you know, you know, not touching you, but like, and I was like, Where'd you train? And cool. It's Reiki, all I I have I don't even know what it is.

SPEAKER_01

It's we've been talking to Elena Bellquest, who wrote the book Resilient by Nature, coming out September 15th. It's a memoir of curing clon chronic Lyme disease. But look, as I've talked to her today and discovered this is more than just healing Lyme, this is healing your body. Great data points that she makes in this, and I highly recommend you get this book no matter what dis hyphen ease you're dealing with, because she gets to the crux of the problem as you'll listen here. Listening parts of the show, catch it all over on the whole bodydee talkshow.com. And while you're there, do give us a review, do share it with someone who feels could use this information. I so appreciate you. I'll be back in a moment. Stay tuned. I love watching miracles happen. I especially love watching them happen in you. You have the ability to heal anything. We've proven it over and over and over again. We love to show you how you. You can heal your own body naturally. Here's what a few of our clients have shared with us.

SPEAKER_07

I'm Charles Steinwinter and I came to David De Has because actually I've known him for many years and I trust his ability to tell me what I need as far as in guiding me in my health recovery. I had a lot of the chemotherapy that I needed to get out of my system, and I decided that I needed to actually come and do some colonics. And in the end I decided to do the 10-day cleanse, which I just completed, and I'm very happy. I had a lot of leg pain since December 25th, and this is what is today, like January 19th. So today my leg pain has finally all the way gone away, and I was taking two painkillers a day. My brain fog is better, and I am feeling very, very light. I just feel better, and I would recommend it to anyone.

SPEAKER_08

So far, going from crippling anxiety in and out of the emergency room to not going from not being able to sleep to being able to sleep, already passing and killing parasites, and severe insomnia from the anxiety. So I would get a few hours of max, and that's when I wasn't actively having an anxiety attack that I could not get rid of. Um now I'm good. Now I don't have the eight hours? Yeah, yeah, eight ten, feeling really good, catching up on a lot of sleep, and seeing a lot of just changes in my body, in my face, doing a lot of emotional work already, feeling really good so far.

SPEAKER_01

I'm I'm what I want to say is that look, we're all energy beings. We're just one big electrical grid of light and energy, and emotions are energy. There's been many books written about this. Uh Dr. Tennett talks about this, uh, energy and our pulse frequency machine. It's energy. You don't necessarily feel it, but hands-on energy when you put hands on someone, and people have done this in their churches, they, you know, they just call it praying for someone. You put your hands out and they call me hot hands, but it's just that energy, and you're directing that energy. And I call it when I help someone, I say, look, you're doing the work, you do the teach them heart math coherence. But the way I explain it is like this. And the Bible says, where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am also. So if I'm just there, I'm just turbocharging you. I'm just like God doing the work. I'm just give giving you a little extra juice here so that you visually and emotionally can clear this. So that's the way I explain it. That's I don't get too complicated.

SPEAKER_04

I totally, I I agree completely. I had known this, spent my whole life with animals. I can't I one I think I did come out of the womb as is animal obsessed. And I've always wanted every animal that I could have. And you knew. And so I've always worked with, you know, I've had three rescue horses, and I've always had, you know, like I wanted the cat that was we have two cats that were saved from a 7-Eleven dumpster. And you animals speak a hundred spun speak a hundred percent through energy. And I was not trained on this. I just always knew how profoundly and exquisitely sensitive animals are. And I I knew how to to communicate with them. Like I knew I arrived here with that. I knew how to be super gentle. I'm so sensitive that I could just feel their fear, their shutdownness, their hype, like their hyperness, whatever it was, mostly usually the result of humans. And so I've always been like working in energy, but like I would cringe at saying that a few years ago. Like I would not work now. I'm like, oh, here, like I'm like pulling cards, I got my crystals, like I'm well, you know. You just what like I there's the whole thing, like when the medicine doesn't work and the woo-woo things do, like I'm that, right? The medicine was important, it was one important part, but it was one part that never would have healed me on its own. Absolutely not.

SPEAKER_01

You know what's interesting about your story? I had Ming Tongu. So he was a Chinese guy, comes to the US, studies science. Well, he's a scientist.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Locked in scientists, locked in mathematics. Sure. You were locked in scientists, and then he says, Yeah, this is not resonating. He goes back to China, studies in a medicinal hospital hospital. Oh yeah. And you know, he learns about how people are healing cancer with just hands-on energy healing, right? He learns this stuff and I had him on the show. It's just interesting how when you get trained in something A plus B equals C, right? Then you go into the energetic or and you knew that intuitively, you picked up on animals, which is probably why you gravitated to working as as a marine scientist, right?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah, of course. I always wanted to talk to the trees and and all of it, always. And then you kind of you kind of get like society kind of makes you feel stupid for that. And I've you know, yeah, we get labels.

SPEAKER_06

We gotta have the labels.

SPEAKER_04

Like it's not weird to talk to your pets, but it's very weird to talk to the sycamore tree in your front yard. I'm like, okay, you know, like I no one thinks it's weird when you talk to your dog in in like not a like a command way, like, oh, I love you so much. Like, you know, talk to our dog. They don't speak to me.

SPEAKER_01

Talk to your plants, yeah. So you know, Lynn McTaggart, you know, that scientist, she proved that just putting an attention towards plants, you can make them grow faster. That's all been proven, but it's just not mainstream.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's why we need to we need podcasts like this.

SPEAKER_01

Well, we need podcasts like this. That's right. Exactly. That's awesome. Okay, so that was Nick. By the way, I wanted to just one of the things as we dived into pets. No, when I I came to the conclusion many years ago, I had a dog and he got sick. And I always noticed that the dog, when I wasn't feeling well or just a little off, he'd come over to my bedside, right? And I believe, because he died and he died of cancer. I believe he took a cancer out of me. Totally believe that. Oh, yeah. And now when my dogs come by my bed, I'm going like, what's wrong with me? Oh, I know.

SPEAKER_04

Then you like then you wake up a little too much, and then everything is like a sign. Like that. I I kind of went through that phase too. Right. Oh my God, everything is speaking to me. But you know, it's uh we just got a rescue horse from an auction in Texas because a lot of these horses go through the livestock auction and end up um being slaughtered, and it's horrific. It's horrify horrific thing that is happening right under our noses that so many people don't know about. And we just got him three days ago. He came over from Texas. And if you don't speak with them in energy, like you that's the only way right now that we're letting him know he's safe to like finally take a deep breath. And we have seen we have two other horses off the racetrack, and they all come to you so tightly wound and so physically injured and so mentally injured. And we just provide them calm, peace. All they have to do is be horses, and all of these ailments go away. All of these things that were not fixable go away. Stanley had a broken leg off the track, he had surgery, probably was gonna be lame for life, bolster, same thing. They're 100% sound now. They've just been given, it's like I don't want people to complicate Lyme disease a lot of the time. It's like people have these protocols and these medications and these lists, and it's just like so intense. And it's like there is so much medicine in like sitting in your front yard with the sunshine and speaking to the sycamore tree and being on the earth and having sunlight in your eyes and having a relationship with your dog, like profound amounts of medicate medicine in that too, because that's how we healed our three horses that were all like supposed to be broken for life and end up living till they're like 28 years old, and all they have to do is be horses, all they have to do.

SPEAKER_01

So you went down the energy route and you got all and so you deep you went into the mental and the emotional. What about supplements, things like that? What what I um did you try all that first?

SPEAKER_04

Oh lord, yeah, because I went through a naturopath. So we did the hardcore antibiotics. I was on antibiotics for one full year, like seven to nine of them. It was pretty hardcore. Um, I did IV ozone therapy, supportive illegonucleotide therapy, and then so many antimicrobials. I I couldn't even begin to list them. Tinctures that my like naturopath had like put together. So, like plant-based antimicrobials that again, like I came in thinking, well, how these are not gonna do anything. And like they do a lot and they're super powerful. They're like the original medicine, right? And so, yeah, lots of antimicrobial herbs, like colloidal silver, methylene blue, like how you name it. I really did try it and had a lot of success with them. I think my only advice to people listening is like, I just kind of was like drinking from the fire hose. Like I was like every like because I was so hellbent on getting better in I gave myself three weeks and then that didn't work. So I said, fine, you can have three months. That didn't work. So then I was like, so I was obsessed with getting back to my life as fast as possible, which would have been like shorting myself and all the healing that happened that only happened because I was so sick for so long. But yeah, the supplements were were key, absolutely key. Like the colon hydrotherapy, I did that for three years pretty regularly. Because yeah, the gut stuff, like you take antibiotics for a full year. That's bad. It's hardcore. I'm still a hundred percent like climbing out of that hole. And I'm that's like probably the top three questions I'm asked by people online. People reaching out to me often. Like, if you could go back, would you take the antibiotics? I'm like, well, I'm not a medical provider, so like I don't know. Talk to your doctor, obviously. Would I do it again? The the weight of the it's hard. Yes, and like huge asterisks. Like that many antibiotics takes takes a toll.

SPEAKER_01

It really does. And then you're destroying the rest of the microbiome. You know, I had a doctor come through our 10-day healing retreat, and she, I don't know exactly what where she was at, what it wasn't lying, but yeah, she was on antibiotics for 10 years. She only should be. She is she could only eat cucumbers. When she got done with the 10-day healing retreat, she came in the next day, she says, David, I ate steak. It tasted so good.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she does she does regular clinics to this day. She's still on a healing path. So much better. We've got her, we've documented her whole journey through our 10-day retreat.

SPEAKER_04

We are so resilient. That's like my title of the book. I want people to that's what my story, I hope, shows people. We are so capable of recovery.

SPEAKER_01

And I've been a bit in those forums, like you mentioned. I do see people just it's that's for them, it's just all physical, physical, physical. And I think what the gift that you got early on was the emotional, mental, and spiritual as well.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, absolutely. What a what a great gift. Very illness reinforcing, super alarmist. I mean, I left those forums like, well, I have these 15 other symptoms I didn't even know I had. Like, you know, they're they're I mean, they do have a place, I think, but the the cost outweighed the benefit for me big time.

SPEAKER_01

You know, we've had several people come into us saying they've been diagnosed with Lyme, and by the time we got done with our 10-day retreat, they had a lot of parasites, and I yeah, it just kind of just felt like the Lyme buried into the parasites. And we got rid of the big the big boys.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. It was awesome. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Last week, and he was same thing, three years.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Tried all kinds of stuff, didn't do enough colonics, in my opinion, but uh did a lot of liver did a lot of coffee animus for him. But he found another thing called inducing. Have you heard of that?

SPEAKER_04

No, I have not.

SPEAKER_01

I haven't looked at it, I just just popped it up. I haven't even I was gonna buy some and try it. I always try everything. I've never had lime, thank God. I've had everything else, it seems like.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Well, you I mean, you've got the right mindset. You're you're pretty.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, you I feel like everything I'm saying, you're like, yep, live that, know that, yep.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you know, I think the thing for me, watching, you know, 20 years of watching people heal, you know, we do get showed. Do we come to Earth to learn lessons? Probably so. That's what I'm gonna say, yes, because I've learned a lot. Yeah, was not my path. I was not gonna be a colonized therapist. I was gonna be a commercial real estate developer. I wasn't gonna be colonized. No one signs up. There's not a school anywhere that offers it as a degree. None. Yeah. So here I am, and uh, having all the things I've had. So I think it's fantastic that that you learned all that. The EMDR, we had Nina on the show talking about that. Very powerful. Hey. Wow. I haven't done it yet, so I think I'll I think I'll just sign up.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I love it and hate it and love it and hate it. Yeah, it's like buckle up.

SPEAKER_01

So, okay, so so tell me the what's the analogies between your your working world as a marine scientist, right? Scientist or biologist? What do you call yourself?

SPEAKER_04

Marine scientist, fisheries biologist.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, and and and uh this lime journey. What things do you take?

SPEAKER_04

I mean the connection very strongly. It took a while when I, I don't know, maybe year two when I was still like I was still pretty profoundly sick at year two. And I and I just thought, well, like I I was deeply entrenched in obviously the medication, the the naturopathic medication, the Western medication. I was really diving into like the mental and the mental work, the emotional work. I all of those pieces I'd already been like, okay, I'm gonna have to deal with my like racing heart and my anxiety and all these things. Mindset. And I started to to really think about my my work and what I had done in my work for so many years, and what I had done in all this year of all these years of schooling and education was that like I had seen in my career time and time again, species, ecosystems, individuals like in the rescue animals that I had had. I had seen them overcome like extraordinary devastation. And I knew that to be true for them, but I never like permitted myself to have that same story. Like I'd I'd been like I'd have like my hands directly on or directly involved in like success stories, say in fisheries, like a species that was like severely depleted, and you'd get all the stakeholders together and like, how are we gonna rebuild this? How are we gonna allow this species to rebuild? And I remember thinking, man, sometimes they even come back better and faster than we anticipate or predicted. And I slowly started to be like, well, I'm nature. My body is literally nature. These principles should theoretically apply to my healing too. I realized that nature was capable of overcoming such crazy amounts of devastation when given the time, the right conditions, the chance, the opportunity, um, the intention. And so I just started applying that to myself. And I realized that I knew this because of all my education and my training and my like working as a biologist. And so I just started to see myself like that, and it worked. And when I started to talk to other people with this kind of illness or any chronic illness, I realized how limiting the language was around like human healing. Like I have chronic Lyme, like super, like I own this for life. This is something I'm going to have to deal with and manage for the rest of my life. And I rejected that. And I started to just really think about myself like in a mini ecosystem. And and it totally worked. And that's woven throughout my book. Very, I mean, my book, it's like a it is like a love letter to Earth. It's set in Vancouver Island, where I'm from, and Southern California, where I live. And it's very interesting to have a book about Lyme disease where so many people with Lyme disease are resentful and fearful of nature. This book, I mean, there's trees on the cover, like nature is woven throughout the entire book. And so I just saw myself as a landscape that was devastated, needed some repair. And if I just allowed it to do what it knows how to do, like ecosystems, species, you, me, bodies, we're always moving towards healing. That's like baked into our design. And I just allowed for that. I had to remove the things that were in the way, which is what we do in fisheries. Like, if you want a species to come back, you don't add more fish. That's like the last thing you do. That's actually like the least effective thing. You remove the things that are harming it, you remove pollution, you address like warming waters, you remove over harvesting, you remove stress, anxiety, all the things that were harming my innate resilience. And I just started to do the same. I'm like, okay, like in my career, we would be like, okay, we need to remove the amount of take that is happening. Okay, I'm gonna remove some more things that are harming me, whatever that's like, what I'm eating, what I'm thinking, like all of the things. And it and it worked. And it's a gentle way of healing, it's very natural way of healing. And so that's really what my book dives into because I, at the end of the day, don't want to be talking about Lyme for the rest of my life or even for the next like I Lyme is like my story, but learning from the natural world is really what matters the most to me. We are nature. There is no distinction. What we are doing to the planet, we are doing to ourselves. What we are doing to the planet is being reflected in our bodies and our minds right now. We are sicker than we've ever been. And look out our windows. We've we are trashing this planet in every direction. Until we repair what we've done to this earth, we are gonna stay sick. That means a lot to me. That's the like thing I've always wanted to do as a kid. I wanted to be like the Lorax. Like I wanted to be Jane Goodall.

SPEAKER_01

My my favorite series is the Dr. Seuss book. So Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

That book was banned in the US, like in the in the 70s and 80s because it was anti-industry. Um, but it's not banned anymore, thank God.

SPEAKER_01

You said a key word, I think, and allowing what popped in my brain years ago was uh Rush Limbaugh was talking about earth and how earth can heal and repair. And, you know, we're in our state, Idaho, big 62% of the state's owned by the federal government. A lot of it is forest land. And we kicked all the loggers out and we've just allowed them to burn. And what have we added also? We've added cell towers. Cell towers are killing our bees, they're killing our pollinators. You drive down the road. I just went north middle of the summer. You normally have bugs in your windshield. There's no bugs.

SPEAKER_04

No one is talking about.

SPEAKER_01

So bugs in the windshield. The towers are known to dehydrate the foliage. Uh, Dr. Martin Paul said, you know, we know that they increase the terpenes in the trees. And when the fire gets going, then these trees explode like there's gasoline on it. And what do we I just went on the what it's called a backdoor discovery route on my Go Sport bike last summer. I went all the way through central Idaho, all the way through the middle of Idaho, on these back in the forest, right? Area after area after area. All I'm seeing is basically burnt toothpicks sticking up through the soil, and they don't even allow them to go in and harvest, you know, after a fire and then replant. Back in my day as a kid, back in the 60s and 70s, we had five mills in our little town in Grangeville, Idaho. I mean, a lot of loggers, and they would clear cut. Oh, clear cutting's bad. Okay, maybe it is, maybe it isn't. But you know what? They'd go back in and plant, and you know, 40 years later, 50 years later, you can't tell where those clear cuts are. A lot of the logging roads are gone.

SPEAKER_04

And those monocultures are much less fire resistant. So it's like when you look at a forest ecosystem, it's a diversity of species, and they have a lot more fire resistance. You have huge old growth trees. When they replant after a clear cut, they plant rows of the same species and they dump all sorts of pesticides onto the land. Um, there's a huge understory of of uh essentially like timber or like fire material. It's because the trees aren't spread apart, they can't the sunlight can't get down to the soil. It's really there's no animals. No. And yeah, I mean, it's like pick an ecosystem, pick a direction. What we're doing in every, you know, it's just and it's hard. I don't like want to peep it's it's so easy to feel like helpless and hopeless when you start thinking about the environment. You can the choices you make every day really do matter. Absolutely the choices you make. Where do you get your food from? What what like what is your front law lawn look like? What are you planting? Are you planting drought resistant here in California? Are you planting like pollinator species? You know, pollinator um plants that pollinating species love. So your your decisions really matter every day, every day. And people, I think people get so overwhelmed now. It's like, oh, I can't. Absolutely, you can.

SPEAKER_01

Just in our little, my little ecosystem as a kid growing up, we've been talking to Elena Belquest, who wrote the book Resilient by Nature, coming out September 15th. It's a memoir of occurring chronic Lyme disease. But look, as I've talked to her today and discovered this is more than just healing Lyme, this is healing your body. Great data points that she makes in this. And I highly recommend you get this book no matter what dishyphenese you're dealing with, because she gets to the crux of the problem as you'll listen here. Listening parts of the show, catch it all over on the whole bodydeetalkshow.com. And while you're there, do give us a review. Do share it with someone who feels could use this information. I so appreciate you. We'll be back in a moment. Stay tuned. I love watching miracles happen. I especially love watching them happen in you. You have the ability to heal anything. We've proven it over and over and over again. We love to show you how you can heal your own body naturally. Here's what a few of our clients have shared with us.

SPEAKER_02

I'm Jess McCusker. I've been coming to David for many years, and I can tell you the one thing that's keep me coming back. I'm a completely different person, and I've just continued to come back. I noticed immediately brain fog. I went from just trying to barely function in life to immediately brain fog was gone and I got better sleep. So those two things right there just made me more successful at the end of the day. Two simple things. And of course, looking at different diet changes and things like that, but those two elements changed my life as my wellness routine. You continue to keep coming back because it makes your life better.

SPEAKER_00

My both eyes eventually started watering all the time. And it was making me tired. My eyes were tired. And I felt it switch and it hurt. I couldn't do anything. It was in the middle of the night. It couldn't go anywhere. My eyes were watering, and it felt like I had a piece of glass. And I maybe three two ounce cups of that juice, of the G3. And so within a day, it's calmed down. It doesn't hurt. No glass feeling in the eye. And the watering has subsided. Thank you, God.

And uh now that they've logged it, we got moose, bear, deer, 40 turkeys in the front yard. I mean, all of a sudden, I mean, now they've got food. Because before it was just, you know, there were like you say, there was no sunlight, and that's not a sustainable. We've learned a lot, you know, over the last hundred years for sure, but we're still doing some very bad things. And now we're putting glyphosate in the forest. My God, what's that about?

SPEAKER_04

You tell me. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

There is good news. We've had uh Rick Clark was on, he's uh farmer in Midwest, and he's doing he went, he started with 17 acres uh 17 years ago, and now he's got 7,000 acres all organic with ground cover. He's cut his inputs by millions of dollars. His tractors run at just very low RPM. He says, David, I I hardly use any fuel, it's just incredible.

SPEAKER_06

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

And so there's more. I just saw online last night another guy up in Montana, and he's been doing some some interesting work. I'm gonna reach out to him. But I mean, so we we're there, but we gotta save these farms because this this whole corporate toxic intoxication of our farmlands and just putting more inputs and especially using herbicides that are you know causing gut dysbiosis in our water.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, like people are so disconnected from like if we pollute the land, we pollute the water, we pollute the air. This just shows up in our bodies.

SPEAKER_06

I know.

SPEAKER_04

These decisions, these like environmental regulation decisions are human health decisions. Like if we want to be some people aren't motivated by like saving the earth, but like, okay, so maybe they're motivated by like what's good for people. Well, what's good for planet Earth is really what's good for you, and what's bad for Earth is bad for you. It's all this, it's all the same, it's all connected.

SPEAKER_01

Right. What's your biggest so so you're this is quite a journey you've gone on, so it's pretty cool how you can come full circle on this.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um what's the biggest takeaway that you want to put out to people today from your book that you want to say to America? America, this is what we gotta do.

SPEAKER_04

The biggest takeaway? I think it's so simple. I mean, twofold. One, you can healing is an option. I can't I'm not here to say you can heal, but healing from a chronic illness is possible. I'm living proof. I'm living breathing proof. And two, to cultivate a meaningful relationship of the natural world will improve every facet of your life. Reconnecting to nature will improve every, every part of your life. And it's probably one of the most devastating the fractured relationship we have with nature is one of the most devastating things of modern society. And if you want to heal, it's a bit of a shortcut. And it's not, you're not gonna find this on the like, this isn't gonna be in your prescription plan. This isn't gonna be on the forums. Reconnecting to the natural world is not is not prescribed, but maybe that's my prescription.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I think the smart thing you did is you you surround yourself with a bunch of coaches.

SPEAKER_04

Totally. Oh my god. They were like so patient with me, phenomenal, life-changing people. Like the kind of people you're like, oh yeah, and read over a thousand books. You know, I read like all the Joe Dispenza and I like it.

SPEAKER_01

Have you been to a retreat?

SPEAKER_03

No, I didn't. I didn't know.

SPEAKER_01

It's coming to San Diego like in three or four months. You gotta go do it, girl.

SPEAKER_04

I should I should. I I know I've heard they're they're serious.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, I've been to two. They are a game changer.

SPEAKER_03

You mentioned the heart-mind coherence thing, and I was like, oh yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I teach that on the cleanse, and I gotta tell you, it's a game changer for me and our clients. And when I was there, you know, eighteen hundred people in the room, the energy is amazing. And I truly believe. Yeah. I've had Dr. Deborah Rosman on episode 160 on the whole body detox show. She's the head of heart math. Yeah. And uh, you know, they have a way of measuring all this. They do a major heart resilience for the planet. I think they just did that in May. I can't remember when, but they can measure this stuff. And then Lynn McTagger did a bunch of her work, and this is just David's little journey here over the last 10 years. Well, I discovered him in 17 and just jumped. I always jump in and just buy everything. But anyway, I came away with that. I thought, you know what? This is the key, this energy that they give and that you can give as a person, whether it's two or more, you know, whether it's in your church or in your home or with the animals or whatever, when you change that, they improve this with dogs and humans that how the how the heart connection is amazing. I mean, even going in a separate room, but how we can grow plants with that heart resilience and focusing on a plant, focusing on yourself, focusing on other people. It's just it's amazing. It's a it's such a huge game changer. We could cut the sick care cost by so much just by losing that. And I'll be taught in every school. Agreed. At first grade.

SPEAKER_08

Agreed.

SPEAKER_01

Today at recess, gentlemen, we and ladies, we are going to sit down and we're gonna do a little meditation. We're gonna do a little hot coherence.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, even better outside. Oh, on the on the earth. Kick your shoes off, kids. We're going outside.

SPEAKER_01

I remember the first time I went on this little trip. This is this is 9-1-1. So remember when 9-1-1 happened? I was 10 days after that. I this guy says, Hey, he's a massage therapist. Hey, I'm gonna go up and do a cleansing fast up in the woods. So we went, uh, this is in Idaho. So we went uh east of catch him, and I didn't know what we're doing. And uh I remember him going and grabbing a tree and go like, what are you doing?

SPEAKER_04

Right? No, I get it years later. You got it's I learned so much from people, and they call like I heard the term like like a living permission slip. People willing to do the things that other people might judge or find cringy or weird, yeah, and like like that like allow you to do the weird thing or whatever. It's so those people are so important. A lot of the coaches I worked with like had the conversations with me that I thought that I was quite judgy about or whatever it is, but do the cringy weird thing. Generally, that's like the thing that's gonna heal you, uh, in my experience and my lived experience. Those are the things that had the biggest impact.

SPEAKER_01

Well, let's go into sports for a hot moment. There was a guy named Phil Jackson who coached, you know, a really good guy, Michael Jordan, to what, six championships. And, you know, he always talked about Phil Jackson being a little bit weird and the zen stuff he did. But no, he was just he was just leading edge.

SPEAKER_04

No kidding. That's so cool. I didn't know that. I'm not to put it to understatement of the year, I'm not really the well well-versed in sports, but uh that that is so cool. I watched that Netflix show on like the greats, like you've got like Wayne Gretzky, like all the say like the greats. And the one of the through lines in their coaching was they were as children when they were falling in love with whatever their sport of choice was. The thing that all of them had in common was that they were allowed to be free and do it like at play. It wasn't so structured and rigid, and like sports practice is from three to six, and you will run these drills and da-da-da. They were allowed to like Wayne like grew up playing in his backyard hockey pond. You know, they were just allowed to be kids messing up constantly, doing the thing they love in a in a non-structured way. And apparently that led to that's like really important to leading to greatness, which I just thought I thought that was so awesome. I was like, that really that stuck with me big time.

SPEAKER_01

What stuck with me is I was, you know, I was a coach. I loved basketball. I became a soccer coach for my kids as they were growing up in basketball. But I always followed all the greats. And you ever saw an article on like Arnold Palmer or Michael Jordan or Larry Bird? The one key thing they always said, it wasn't about their physical game, right? When they had an off night, they says, Yeah, yeah, just kind of off tonight, you know, just wasn't just wasn't in my head, or something to that effect. It was always about the mental, right?

SPEAKER_04

100% could not like this. Is the most important thing in this podcast? It because it isn't all mental. I've ridden horses my whole life. And when you're on the back of 11, 1200 pounds of an animal with a very, very, very sensitive animal programmed to run from things that it finds scary, your energy is so merged with theirs that when you like I always said, like when I got to the barn, like my horse always knows is she stressed? Is she happy? Is she relaxed? Is she angry? Is she calm? And the way that shows up in your riding, it's like almost bigger than the skill. Like how well you jumped your round of your course that day. What was your meeting like before you came out to ride? What was the last, what was traffic like? Like if traffic was horrible, I rode worse because of my mental state. I think that applies to most things in life.

SPEAKER_01

Well, as uh Dr. Joe will teach you, you know, the setting the frequency out into the quantum field, it's the emotion that brings back the change. You know, you think about a radio station, tuning into a radio station, right? 580 KIDL, you're tuning into that. You gotta lock right on to 580. Otherwise, if you're a 590, you're getting you're getting all that, you're getting noise, right? So you can do all the Zig Ziggler, Tony Robbins positive thinking. That's great. But if you're if it's just you say, well, I I want to be well, I am well, I am well. But if you're not feeling well, if you're not thankful for being well, if you're not grateful or in love with being well, you've missed the point. You're not gonna bring back the frequency into your body. And that's what the quantum scientists have proven now. And that's what HeartMath and the and Joe Despens and all these people have now proven over and over is that we send the signal, we gotta bring it back with the emotion. And so we if you can't be, like you say, don't claim the disease. If you keep claiming it every day, just had a gal, severe anxiety. This is a great story. Severe anxiety, couldn't sleep, like maybe an hour or two a night, been hospitalized four times, drugs didn't help. She comes in here to the 10 days, says, I gotta do it, I gotta do something. I this is not working, right? On day three, she finally slept. And I just saw her, she just came back for a follow-up, and she walks in the door. I kid you, Natalina. She was like sun-glowing, like an angel walking through the door, and I went, whoa. Yeah, holy moly. She goes, Yeah, David, I'm everything's so good. She says, She goes, I don't call it that word, the A word. She said, My kids, they know we have a we have a fake word. We have noodles.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, totally.

SPEAKER_01

She says, I really haven't gotten noodles, but the other night I started to feel little noodles coming on, and I got up, and she's been doing some parasite cleansing, and she got up in bed and she stood up and she says, Demon, be gone. Think about parasites. What are they, right? Or energies. She says, David, been fine ever since.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So think about our thought, our feeling. She claimed that I am well and felt I am well, and just I'm not gonna allow this, and poop, and and she bought in 100%. It's just so cool.

SPEAKER_04

I people, yeah, I never said I have Lyme. I said, I'm fighting. No, I'm uh, what was my my line? I'm curing a Lyme infection. It totally depersonalized it. Yeah. I just, yeah, I'm curing a Lyme infection, just like I've cured a hundred thousand other infections in my life. Just curing a Lyme infection. And uh it feels so different in your body than I have chronic Lyme disease. It's like, my heart race, like that's like really scary. And like it just it's repetition, of course, repetition, repetition. And then for me, it was getting at those like deeply held beliefs that were like made up the architecture of my brain that like getting in there and like redoing some of the wiring takes commitment and time for sure, and it's totally possible. But I I think and I I I don't even know you, but I I'm quite sure you'd agree with me on this. Like what you were saying, like just to sit if you don't feel it, like I tried to do that at first. I am cured, and like I was like riddled with symptoms, like, no, I wasn't. And my body and my every new thing I was lying to me, right? So it's deeper than that, and that's why good coaching is so important. Because I did have a coach, she was like, I said, I went to the grocery store. That was a big deal for me. I went to the grocery store because I was too sick to do that. And I said, I walked around the grocery store the whole time saying, I am well, I am well. And she's like, But did you believe it? I was like, No, I was in like I wanted a wheelchair, I was in so much pain. And I that was when I was like, Oh, okay, like these positive mantras, like that's not it. It was so much deeper than that. And like getting in there and getting deep, like into the like, like I was saying, like the architecture of your brain that all of like so much of this is formed in your zero to seven, like, you know, and so it's it's gonna take time and it's possible. We have neuroplasticity. What a gift. Learning about neuroplasticity is was one of the biggest positive things I did because I was like, oh, okay, like the brain can rewire. Yes, it's not gonna happen on like Tuesday afternoon. Like it's gonna take some time, you know. But going to the retreats, hiring the coaches, committing repeated action is like such an ally in in fully curing any chronic illness, like taking repeated action. And oftentimes that action hurts, sucks, makes you feel worse, is uncomfortable, is embarrassing.

SPEAKER_01

It's like shooting a bunch of free throws in a row. You first start trying it, you know, you miss, you miss, you miss, you miss, and you're so, you know, so disappointed. But you when you start, I always remember like the feeling of sinking a good shot, if you feel it every time. That's what the greats do. Stephen Curry, all the greats. They feel it, see it, I mean, and they miss, they don't care. They're coming back up, they're popping another 23-footer. Exactly. And what you just said about zero to seven, I want to go back because that's really important. We do, as you know, we're in our, let's see, beta alpha, theta, we're in our theta brainwave state from zero to seven. And so we're literally just little sponges. My little grandson, he's just a little sponge. And so you tell him there's a Santa Claus, he's believed there's a Santa Claus, right? And I've had so many clients. We do a thing called emotional journey release, I call it. And so many people have gone back and as we go through that guide of meditation, picked up on something that happened. We had one gal, she had eight years of cancer, tried all the things, you know, chemo radiation, chemo radiation, chemo, the naturopathic stuff, did all the things, a lot of good stuff. And when she came out at session, she says, David, no one's ever done that. No one's ever done what you just did. I've been doing it 20 years of talk therapy. She says that tumor the size of a tennis ball, she says, It's gone. And it's because she collapsed it. She forgave the guy as a little girl, and she'd never done that before. And so she changed the frequency. So when we pick up on frequency, and some of us don't even know remember what it was. Yeah. So you need it, like what you did. You were so smart in hiring a bunch of coaches, a bunch of different ones. And you, I'm sure, got more out of some than others, but that was such a gift, I think. That, you know, go back on those forums and say, Hey, go hire a bunch of coaches. You need some emotional work too. Yeah, read my book.

SPEAKER_04

Read the whole thing. Oh my I dedicated much of the book to those coaches. My first coach in Nooshka, she had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Like, I think it was three months to live. And here she's eight years later now. She has a baby. So I was like, Well, she seems to know what she's talking about. Yeah. I'll hire you. You know, it got out of my own way. Like, I was like, oh, like she's not a certified therapist, and oh, what are her credentials? And like, got out of my own way. And was like, oh yeah, the talk therapy has a place. So does that kind of coaching. It all works like synergistically.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know Dr. Joe's story?

SPEAKER_04

No, I don't. It was just like oh no, yeah, he was in a wheelchair. Yeah, he got he got ran over by a suburban. He was on his fellow bike or his road bike.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so we gotta tell the whole story, and I got another tie-in story to that. So, okay, so Dr. Joe dispensed that he was just fresh out of college, had a practice in a triathlon, gets smashed by a car, goes to the hospital, the surgeon says, Hey, you've had broken your back multiple places, we gotta do surgery, rods, surgery, rods, blah, blah, blah. Dr. Joe had been doing a lot of trying meditations and things since he was fresh out of high school. So he was a curious cat going and trying different things. He'd learned heart math coherence. And he says, Well, okay, he says, I understand. If I was a doctor looking at the x-rays, I'd probably, you know, suggest the same thing. But, you know, I'm me, and you know, if we're made in God's image, why can't we heal this? Oh, but Dr. Joe, blah, blah, blah, blah. We're great surgeons, we have all the right stuff. And no, no, no, I'm gonna go home, I'm gonna heal this. And so he went home and he started meditating, visualizing that he was perfectly healed and feeling. Now, you know, this guy's gotta be in a lot of pain. So you're visualizing and feeling at the same time, and I'm sure it was very difficult those first. And he says, you know, you get to it a minute and you try thought breaks the plane, you start over, and you keep visualizing and seeing, but four months later he was perfectly healed, never had surgery.

SPEAKER_04

He has the platform he does. Like his book blew my mind. Like, I pulled it off the shelf like six months ago, and I hadn't looked at it in maybe five years. Breaking the habit of being yourself. Oh, yeah, yeah. I've read them all. I killed myself laughing. It has, you know, like the book has like 75 post-it notes, just like on the I was like, oh, apparently I really liked this one. And then I opened it and it's like highlighting, and then I took notes on the highlighting thing. Like, I took it so seriously, took my healing so seriously because I can't even imagine, like, so lucky to get diagnosed with Lyme in 2020. Like, if I had been diagnosed with something in like 1980, like it's a very different world. The information we have at our fingertips now, again, like social media can be such a double-edged sword. Curate your social media, follow Joe Dispenza, follow the right people, trash, unfollow the ones that make when you leave, you feel less empowered, you hate ticks even more, you're blaming nature for screwing you over. Like, goodbye, get rid of that stuff. All of the things you surround yourself with eventually become your own narratives. And so I was just like devouring these kinds of books, and um, eventually these perspectives became my own perspectives. But can you imagine like 40 years ago? Like you would have been laughed at if you'd gone to talk therapy. Like laughed at.

SPEAKER_01

We're so I know. Dr. Joyce Brown, she just called me, she's 93, she's blind, she is a powerhouse. So, this is this is the gal who okay, it's on my podcast. I gotta put it in the episode. This ties in. Yeah, Dr. Joyce was one of those people abused as a little girl, uh, had a baby, abused by a man, got rid of him, walked into a real estate office in 1963 and says, I want to sell real estate. Well, you're a woman. You can't sell real estate. You can't give me a bank account. Like she ended up taking over the starting her own firm, got a group of women, powerhouse, developed some products. I mean, this the story of her, she now has a foundation, healing for hope, because she wanted to commit suicide. And she had a miraculous, you know, went to the other side, came back. She has her book I couldn't put down. What's it called? Oh my gosh. I gotta pull it up because it's not.

SPEAKER_04

No, I'm sorry to put you on the spot. I hate when that happens. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Right, no, no, no. This is really important. It ties in for somebody. I mean, that's why I brought it up, obviously, Dr. Joyce Brown, the hope doctor. And the book, she got a couple amazingly heavenly answers. There's one quick story about her. So, anyway, so she had all these bad things happen. She got ALS. This is where I met her. I got asked to speak at healingal s dot or g like three or four years ago. I went to Salt Lake, spoke at this conference, and she had this booth next to me, didn't know who she was. She's in a wheelchair, had two little dogs. I didn't think much of it. She had some books there, didn't look at them.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And at the end of the conference, she comes up and she starts talking to me out of the blue. It was all a God-divine thing. Gave me a book. I took the book home, read it, like, oh my gosh, I've got to get on the show.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

She tells a story, you know, she had ALS. And of course, you know, it's still to this day, a lot of people believe you cannot heal from ALS. Well, there's a whole organization with go to their site, healingal s dot or rg. There's tons of people who have healed ALS. Well, she did it back in the 80s. Wow. But no one had healed for ALS. Wow. And now she's blind. She says, David, David, you gotta help me. I got she needs someone to help her. She's by herself, she's in a home, she's in a wheelchair, just breaking. She says, I don't have much time left on earth. I got I got more to do. I got to get some podcasts going here. I said, you just need to go on podcast, Joyce. Yeah. Great. Her story's amazing because she's got a suicide hotline. I mean, she's 93. She's all these, all these you think the normal person put her in a memory care or assisted living center, block the door. This gal is still at 93. This is my point of my story. 93. All the things she's gone through, you gotta read the book. The thing she's gone through and recovered from is amazing. And here she is, 93, still wanting to get the message out, still want to help people. I mean, it's people like that. And you know, it's even back in the 60s, she was like, What? I can do that. What I can do that.

SPEAKER_03

That's very cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it is really cool. Well, it's been so fun having you on the show.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah. We could, I feel like we can cover like bring up a subject, we can talk about it.

SPEAKER_01

So Resilient by Nature, a memoir of curing chronic Lyme disease out September 15th.

SPEAKER_04

At all the bookstores, all the bookstores online. You can order, you can pre-order it now. I tend to, I mean, yes, you can get on Amazon and Barnes and Noble and all those places. You can get on Wall Street. But I love the idea of getting it at your local bookstore. Can ask them to bring it in. Support your little local favorite bookstore. They need it.

SPEAKER_01

They do. It's all about the ecosystem. Keep the local bookstores going.

SPEAKER_04

A hundred percent.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, that is so awesome. What a story. Well, I haven't I normally like to read the books before I bring some on the show. I didn't. Your case.

SPEAKER_04

I would have sent it to you. Sorry. You got let me know. I'll I'll send you a copy.

SPEAKER_01

Please do. I'm a verocious book leader. I've probably got 1,500, 2,000 books at home.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, you can have early access.

SPEAKER_01

So cool. Yeah, you know, it's I'm I'm what a story. I'm so glad you shared this. And I think you, you know, you know, some people get tied into taking this and this and this, and you so nailed it. The coaches you hired and looking internally. Yes. Hats off to you for all the things you did and being a light, a beacon of light, sharing with other people. People, you need coaches. You need people around you. You've got to attack this mentally, emotionally, spiritually. It's just not a physical. None of the diseases are just physical. Every disease I've had through here, there was always an emotional reason.

SPEAKER_04

Absolutely. It's why people come to my page for Lyme treatment and they want to plan. And I'm like, have you thought about your mother wound?

SPEAKER_03

Like, it's so true, right?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I I I quickly looked at your Instagram today and I went, What's this? The psychic, what's this person here? What was that about? And so I'm glad you brought it up because I thought, that's an interesting take. Yeah. But there's more to the picture here.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. There's so much more. And and I think, and I I to pat myself on the bat, I mean, I think my approach is why I'm it's landed me here. Grateful for something that is most people are like almost offended when I say I'm grateful for Lyme disease. Again, not to believe.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's not about the Lyme disease, Elena. I think the story here is about what you're saying, resilient by nature. You're talking about the ecosystem, you're talking about the emotional, mental, and spiritual. You are being a guiding light, literally shining that on people that look at there is a bigger picture here. It's just not a pill in a bottle.

SPEAKER_04

No, this is so much bigger.

SPEAKER_01

And um and God chose you because you come from a scientific background.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's learning to talk. I mean, I've been such a closed, kind of not secretive, but I I it hasn't come. I I I'll speak on spage stages about my fisheries things, but it's been so healing to me to be have these opportunities too, because I've historically been so uncomfortable sharing my feelings and stuff like that. So this is the act of sitting on this podcast, it's also healing to me because historically I've just been so uncomfortable doing this stuff. Oh, yeah. And it's this, it's this you hear it all the time. And if my story can help others, and if and my main goal is if my story can help the natural world, that's all I want. So thank you for giving me this opportunity. I really so I actually really very mean that very sincerely because this is also really beneficial to me.

SPEAKER_01

I'm so glad that we got connected. This is awesome. I can't wait to read you the book. I can't wait to put this out there. This is very, you're gonna help a lot of people with your story. I'm so appreciative of you.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you so much.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. No, you can tell. You know what? You you have that aura. You can just tell when people come on. You know, when you've locked in to someone who really has a great message. And so I so appreciate you. And thank you for being here.

SPEAKER_03

Well, on that note, love it.

SPEAKER_01

This is David Daas from Living Waters Wellness Center, where miracles begin by healing from within. Until next week. Have a blessed week, my friends.
